Michael Desormeaux
Michael John Desormeaux (born September 29, 1985) is an American gridiron football coach and former player. He is the head football coach at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, a position he has held since the final game of the 2021 season. He previously served in various assistant coaching roles at Louisiana from 2016 to 2021, most recently as the co-offensive coordinator and tight ends coach in 2021. Desormeaux played college football at Louisiana as a quarterback and defensive back from 2004 to 2008, where he ranks in the all-time top ten for Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns football statistical leaders, passing yards, passing touchdowns, and rushing yards. The Independence Bowl is a post-season National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)-sanctioned Division I college football bowl game that is played annually each December at Independence Stadium in Shreveport, Louisiana. The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns are the athletic teams of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The college has been competing athletically since 1901.
