Michael D. Rhodes
Michael Dennis RhodesMiddle name from (born 1946) is an associate professor of ancient scripture emeritus, formerly at Brigham Young University (BYU). Rhodes is an Egyptologist who has published a translation of some of the extant Joseph Smith papyri. Rhodes has a B.A. in Classical Greek from BYU (1970). He also received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering at the Air Force Institute of Technology in 1982 and a M.S. in physics from the University of New Mexico in 1989. He has also studied Egyptology at Johns Hopkins University, the Free University of Berlin and the University of Oxford as well as archaeology at the University of Utah. FARMS Review
''Mormon Studies Review'' is an annual academic journal covering Mormon studies published by the University of Illinois Press. Previously, until and including its 2018 issue, the journal was published by Brigham Young University's Neal A. Maxwell Institute for Religious Scholarship. In November 2018, ownership transferred to the University of Illinois Press, which continues to publish the journal. History The ''Review of Books on the Book of Mormon'' was established in 1989 by the Foundation for Ancient Research and Mormon Studies (FARMS), with Daniel C. Peterson as founding editor-in-chief. John Gee
John Laurence Gee (born 1964) is an American Latter-day Saint scholar, apologist and an Egyptologist. He currently teaches at Brigham Young University (BYU) and serves in the Department of Near Eastern Languages. He is known for his writings in support of the Book of Abraham. Life Education Gee graduated from BYU in 1988. Later, he became a graduate student in Near Eastern Studies at the University of California, Berkeley and received his M.A. in Near Eastern Studies in 1991. He earned his Ph.D. in Egyptology at Yale University in 1998, completing his dissertation on ancient Egyptian ritual purity, entitled: ''The requirements of ritual purity in ancient Egypt''.
