Michael D. Antonovich
Michael Dennis Antonovich (born August 12, 1939) is an American politician who was Mayor of Los Angeles County and a member of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors. He represented the Fifth District, which covers northern Los Angeles County, California, Los Angeles County, including the Antelope Valley, Santa Clarita, California, Santa Clarita, Pasadena, California, Pasadena, and parts of the San Fernando Valley, San Fernando and San Gabriel Valley, San Gabriel valleys. Education and early career Antonovich was born in Los Angeles, California, and attended Thomas Alva Edison Junior High, where one of his classmates was Henry Waxman. The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors (LACBOS) is the five-member governing body of Los Angeles County, California, United States. History On April 1, 1850 the citizens of Los Angeles elected a three-man Court of Sessions as their first governing body. A total of 377 votes were cast in this election. In 1852, the Legislature dissolved the Court of Sessions and created a five-member Board of Supervisors. In 1913 the citizens of Los Angeles County approved a charter recommended by a board of freeholders which gave the County greater freedom to govern itself within the framework of state law. As the population expanded throughout the twentieth century, Los Angeles County did not subdivide into separate counties or increase the number of supervisors as its population soared. The California State Guard (CSG) (formerly the California State Military Reserve) is a component of the California National Guard (CNG). Antelope Valley
The Antelope Valley is located in northern Los Angeles County, California, and the southeast portion of Kern County, California, and constitutes the western tip of the Mojave Desert. Howard Berman
Howard Lawrence Berman (born April 15, 1941) is an American attorney and retired politician who served as a U.S. representative from California from 1983 to 2013. Carlos Moorhead
Carlos John Moorhead (May 5, 1922 – November 23, 2011) was a United States Congressman from California. Born in Long Beach, he attended the public schools of Glendale, graduated from Herbert Hoover High School (Glendale) in 1940 and earned a B.A. from the UCLA in 1943 and a J.D. from the University of Southern California Law School in 1949. He served in the United States Army from 1942 to 1945 and attained the rank of lieutenant colonel. Patrick James Nolan (born June 16, 1950) is an American lawyer, politician and conservative activist. Political career In 1978, Nolan was elected to the California State Assembly, serving the 41st district comprising Glendale, Burbank, Toluca Lake and Sunland-Tujunga. He also served the 43rd district. from 1992 to 1994. In 1984, he was elected Assembly Republican Leader, and began an aggressive campaign to elect a Republican majority in the Assembly. Conviction Nolan was part of an FBI sting operation called Shrimpscam which targeted officials who accepted illegal campaign contributions. He was charged with seven counts of corruption. He entered into a plea deal and admitted to one count of racketeering in 1993. As a now convicted felon, Nolan resigned his seat and was sentenced to thirty three months in prison.
