Michael Collie (journalist)
Michael Collie is a British television and radio presenter who appears on BBC News. He is also a former presenter of the weekly politics programme, the Politics Show, in addition to his work presenting BBC Midlands Today, produced by the BBC's West Midlands region. BBC Michael Collie began his full-time broadcasting career on BBC WM as the early morning newsreader. Nationally has reported for "Today" and presented "You and Yours" on BBC Radio 4, for which he worked for 5 years, winning the Jet Media Excellence Award for Radio for an investigation into car mileage clocking. He has also worked as a newsreader on BBC Radio 2. On television he worked on "Countryfile" as a presenter/reporter for 6 years, also presenting on "Top Gear" for two series. He was the presenter of BBC2's "Paddles Up" canoeing series, and also appeared as a model on BBC1's "The Clothes Show". BBC Birmingham
BBC Birmingham is one of the oldest regional arms of the BBC, located in Birmingham. It was the first region outside London to start broadcasting both the corporation's radio (in 1922) and television (in 1949) transmissions, the latter from the Sutton Coldfield television transmitter. From 1971 BBC Birmingham was based at the Pebble Mill Studios, replacing studios on Broad Street, but in 2004 moved to the Mailbox facility in the city centre. Pebble Mill has been demolished to make way for a dental hospital and school of dentistry, which opened in 2016. BBC Birmingham is not to be confused with BBC Midlands, which is also based at the Mailbox. Volunteer Reserves Service Medal
The Volunteer Reserves Service Medal (VRSM) is a medal which may be awarded to members of the Volunteer Reserves of all branches of the British Armed Forces - the Royal Naval Reserve, the Royal Marines Reserve, the Army Reserve and the Royal Auxiliary Air Force. It replaced the separate decorations and medals awarded respectively to officers and other ranks in each of the services - the Royal Navy's Reserve Decoration and Reserve Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, the British Army's Territorial Decoration and Efficiency Medal, and the Royal Air Force's Air Efficiency Award - from 1 April 1999. Territorial Decoration
__NOTOC__ The Territorial Decoration (TD) was a military medal of the United Kingdom awarded for long service in the Territorial Force and its successor, the Territorial Army. This award superseded the Volunteer Officer's Decoration when the Territorial Force was formed on 1 April 1908, following the enactment of the Territorial and Reserve Forces Act 1907, (7 Edw.7, c.9) which was a large reorganisation of the old Volunteer Army and the remaining units of militia and Yeomanry. Army Cadet Force
The Army Cadet Force (ACF), generally shortened to Army Cadets, is a national youth organisation sponsored by the United Kingdom's Ministry of Defence and the British Army. Along with the Sea Cadet Corps and the Air Training Corps, the ACF make up the Community Cadet Forces. It is a separate organisation from the Combined Cadet Force which provides similar training within principally independent schools. Although sponsored by the Ministry of Defence, the ACF is not part of the British Army, and as such cadets are not subject to military 'call up'. Some cadets do, however, go on to enlist in the armed forces later in life, and many of the organisation's leaders have been cadets or have a military background. Worcestershire
Worcestershire ( , ; written abbreviation: Worcs) is a county in the West Midlands of England. Pershore
Pershore is a market town in the Wychavon district in Worcestershire, England, on the banks of the River Avon. The town is part of the West Worcestershire parliamentary constituency. At the 2011 census, the population was 7,125. The town is best known for Pershore Abbey, Pershore College (now a campus of Warwickshire College) and plums grown locally.
