Michael Brennan (25 September 1912 – 29 June 1982) was an English film and television actor. Born in London, Brennan was married to actress Mary Hignett. He appeared in such films as ''Tom Brown's Schooldays'', ''Ivanhoe'', '' Thunderball'', '' Tom Jones'', ''The Amorous Adventures of Moll Flanders'' and ''Doomwatch''. Michael Richard Brennan (born May 18, 1972) is a college basketball head coach who most recently served as head coach of American University and former professional European basketball player who played for teams in Germany, Belgium and Portugal. He previously served as an assistant coach for Columbia University, Georgetown University, Princeton University and American University. Brennan also holds an Irish passport. Playing career Brennan won two Ivy League titles with the Princeton Tigers men's basketball. He played for the Tigers between 1990 and 1994, averaging 5.0 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. Michael Brennan (born 1973) is an Australian poet. He is editor of the Australian sector of Poetry International Web and is the co-founder of publisher Vagabond Press. Early life and education Brennan was born in Sydney in 1973. He completed his Ph.D. at the University of Sydney in 2001, where he wrote his thesis: ''The Impossible Gaze: Robert Adamson and the work of negativity''. During his time at the University of Sydney, Brennan co-edited the university's undergraduate literary journal, ''Hermes'', an annual magazine which publishes the works of students at the university. He also began writing a journal for a class taught by Elizabeth Webby who was the editor of the Australian literary magazine '' Southerly'' from 1988 to 1999. Webby asked Brennan to work on ''Southerly'', an opportunity which Brennan has referred to, saying “That was my real start”. Michael Brennan (born 29 June 1965) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with the East Fremantle Football Club in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) and the West Coast Eagles in the Australian Football League (AFL). An inaugural West Coast squad member, Brennan played mainly at full-back. He played in West Coast's 1992 and 1994 premiership sides, and won the Best Clubman award in 1995, his final season. Brennan was named in both West Coast's Team of the Decade (named in 1996) and Team 20 (named in 2006), as well as East Fremantle's Team of the Century, named in 1997. Michael Brennan (born 24 September 1946) is an Irish former politician from Adare in County Limerick who served as a member of Seanad Éireann. Brennan was a Fianna Fáil member of Limerick County Council for over 20 years, and served as chairman of the council in 2000. He contested the 1997 general election as an Independent candidate having failed to get a Fianna Fáil nomination to run for the party. He later rejoined Fianna Fáil and was nominated by the Taoiseach to Seanad Éireann in 2002, but left the party again on 29 April 2004 to join the Progressive Democrats (PD), after a dispute arising from the end of the dual mandate. Under the Local Government Act 2001, members of the Oireachtas could no longer serve as local councillors, and Brennan's wife Rose sought a Fianna Fáil nomination to stand for election as his successor in the Bruff Electoral Area. Career Born in Sheffield, Yorkshire, Brennan began his career as a runner and then a news photographer for ''The Croydon Times''. Between 1964 and 1970 he worked in the North of England as a photographer for the regional offices of ''The Sunday People'' and ''The Daily Herald''.
