Michael Bracewell (cricketer)
Michael Bracewell (born 14 February 1991) is a New Zealand cricketer who plays for Wellington. He is the nephew of former Test players Brendon and John Bracewell, and the cousin of current international player Doug Bracewell and comedian Melanie Bracewell . He attended Kavanagh College in Dunedin. He made his international debut for the New Zealand cricket team in March 2022. Career In June 2018, he was awarded a contract with Wellington for the 2018–19 season. In March 2020, in round six of the 2019–20 Plunket Shield season, Bracewell took his maiden five-wicket haul in first-class cricket. In June 2020, he was offered a contract by Wellington ahead of the 2020–21 domestic cricket season. On 8 January 2022, in the 2021–22 Super Smash tournament, Bracewell scored 141 not out for the Wellington Firebirds against the Central Stags. Masterton
Masterton ( mi, Whakaoriori), a large town in the Greater Wellington Region of New Zealand, operates as the seat of the Masterton District (a territorial authority or local-government district). 2019–20 Plunket Shield Season
The 2019–20 Plunket Shield was the 91st season of the Plunket Shield, the domestic first-class cricket competition in New Zealand. It took place between October 2019 and March 2020. As per the previous edition of the competition, the tournament was scheduled to feature eight rounds of matches. Central Districts were the defending champions. In round two of the tournament, Michael Snedden became the first fourth-generation cricketer to play first-class cricket in New Zealand, when he made his debut for Wellington. In round five, Mark Chapman and Joe Carter scored centuries in both innings for Auckland, the first time that two batsman had scored a century in each innings in the same match in the Plunket Shield. It is a relatively rare event in Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket with only 43 occurrences as of 21 December 2022. The Netherlands cricket team toured New Zealand in March and April 2022 to play one Twenty20 International (T20I) and three One Day International (ODI) matches. The ODI series formed part of the inaugural 2020–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League. Originally scheduled to take place in January or February 2022, the tour was moved back slightly due to COVID-19 quarantine requirements for travelling to New Zealand. A Twenty20 International (T20I) is a form of cricket, played between two of the international members of the International Cricket Council (ICC), in which each team faces a maximum of twenty overs. The matches have top-class status and are the highest T20 standard. The game is played under the rules of Twenty20 cricket. Starting from the format's inception in 2005, T20I status only applied to Full Members and some Associate Member teams. However, in April 2018, the ICC announced that it would grant T20I status to all its 105 members from 1 January 2019. Twenty20 (T20) is a shortened game format of cricket. At the professional level, it was introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003 for the inter-county competition. In a Twenty20 game, the two teams have a single innings each, which is restricted to a maximum of 20 overs. Together with first-class and List A cricket, Twenty20 is one of the three current forms of cricket recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as being at the highest international or domestic level. They are the men's representative side of the Central Districts Cricket Association.
