Michael Bird (politician)
Michael Conrad Bird is an economics lecturer, and was a Republican member of the Colorado State Senate from 1987 to 1995. Bird graduated from Western Maryland College in 1961, and gained his Ph.D. from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He joined Colorado College in 1968, and was a Fulbright Lecturer in Mexico in 1966 through 1968, and Peru in 1971. In 1973 Bird and fellow Colorado College Professor Fred Sondermann were elected to city council of Colorado Springs on a "Sensible Growth" ticket. Bird went on to become a Colorado state representative in 1983 and state senator in 1987. After a failed bid to become Governor of Colorado in 1993, losing out to businessman Bruce Benson in the GOP due to his superior financial resources, and being time barred to extend his stay in the Senate in 1994, he returned to the world of education as a lecturer at Colorado College. Michael Bird (born 12 April 1958) is a British author and art historian. He was born in London and educated at Haberdashers' Aske's School and Merton College, Oxford. After teaching at Sherborne School he worked in publishing, including a stint on the editorial team of the Macmillan Dictionary of Art (noOxford Art Online. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Bird published poetry, essays and reviews. The Right Reverend Michael Bird (born 15 November 1957) is a retired Canadian Anglican bishop. From 2008 until 2018 he was the Bishop of Niagara in the Anglican Church of Canada. Bird was born in Oakville, Ontario on 15 November 1957 and educated at the University of Toronto, he was ordained in 1984. Michael F. Bird (born 18 November 1974, Paderborn, West Germany) is an Australian Anglican priest, theologian, and New Testament scholar. Biography In his teenage years, Bird was an atheist who saw Christianity, "as a way of oppressing people, a purely human construct.” After becoming a Christian, he has been a Baptist, Presbyterian, and (most recently) an Anglican. He has recently been called by the ecumenical media platform Eternity a "heavy hitter" in the world of New Testament scholarship and Jesus's divinity. Bird is Academic Dean and a lecturer at Ridley College, having previously taught at Brisbane School of Theology and Highland Theological College. He studied at Malyon College and the University of Queensland. He is also Distinguished Research Professor of Theology at Houston Baptist University. Michael "Mike" Bird (born 7 November 1983) is an English former professional footballer who played at schoolboy level for Wales. He played for clubs in all four constituent countries of the United Kingdom - England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. He is currently a coach at Blackpool's Centre of Excellence. Career Playing career Bird started his career at Bolton Wanderers where he was a graduate of their Youth Academy. After impressing in a trial, he signed for Scottish Premier League club Aberdeen on 15 May 2003 on a free transfer where he made two league appearances, both as a substitute, and one League Cup appearance, also as a sub.
