Michael B. Jordan
Michael Bakari Jordan (; born February 9, 1987) is an American actor. He is known for his film roles as shooting victim Oscar Grant in the drama ''Fruitvale Station'' (2013), boxer Adonis Creed in ''Creed'' (2015), and Erik Killmonger in ''Black Panther'' (2018), all of which were written and directed by Ryan Coogler. Jordan has reprised his role of Creed in ''Creed II'' (2018), and will reprise the role a second time in ''Creed III'' (2023), in which he will also make his directorial debut. Jordan initially broke out in television roles, including Wallace in the first season of the HBO crime drama series ''The Wire'' (2002); Reggie Montgomery on the ABC soap opera ''All My Children'' (2003–2006) and Vince Howard in the NBC sports drama series '' Friday Night Lights'' (2009–2011). 2018 Cannes Film Festival
The 71st annual Cannes Film Festival was held from 8 to 19 May 2018. Australian actress Cate Blanchett acted as President of the Jury. The Japanese film ''Shoplifters'', directed by Hirokazu Kore-eda, won the Palme d'Or. Asghar Farhadi's psychological thriller '' Everybody Knows'', starring Javier Bardem, Penélope Cruz and Ricardo DarÃn, opened the festival and competed in the Main Competition section. It was the second Spanish-language film to open Cannes, following Pedro Almodóvar's '' Bad Education'', which screened on the opening night of the 2004 festival. The official festival poster features Jean-Paul Belmondo and Anna Karina from Jean-Luc Godard's 1965 film '' Pierrot le Fou''. Bryan Stevenson (born November 14, 1959) is an American lawyer, social justice activist, law professor at New York University School of Law, and the founder and executive director of the Equal Justice Initiative.
