Mic Geronimo
Michael Craig McDermon (born September 14, 1973, in Queens, New York), better known by his stage name Mic Geronimo, is an American rapper who was acquainted with Irv Gotti of Murder Inc. Gotti and his brother met Mic Geronimo at a Queens high school talent show, and Mic agreed to record a single ("Shit's Real"), which became a classic underground hit. Mic Geronimo landed a deal with Blunt/TVT Records and debuted with the 1995 LP ''The Natural''. His song "Wherever You Are" was sampled by Moby for the track "Jam for the Ladies" in 2002. The 1997 album ''Vendetta'' saw him with a higher profile, working with Jay-Z, Ja Rule, DMX, the LOX and Puff Daddy on the single "Nothin' Move but the Money", the video for which featured porn star Heather Hunter. AllMusic (previously known as All Music Guide and AMG) is an American online music database. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. Initiated in 1991, the database was first made available on the Internet in 1994. AllMusic is owned by RhythmOne. "Shit's Real", also known by its censored title "It's Real", is the first single released by rapper Mic Geronimo. It appears on his debut studio album ''The Natural'' (1995). Background and composition Produced by a then-unknown Irv Gotti (then known as DJ Irv), "Shit's Real" was the first song Mic Geronimo ever recorded. After meeting Irv at a high school talent show, Geronimo and Irv came together to record a single, which became "Shit's Real". The song uses a looped sample of " Free" by Deniece Williams, and finds Mic Geronimo rapping about his daily routine. The weekly tracking period for sales was initially Monday to Sunday when Nielsen started tracking sales in 1991, but was changed to Friday to Thursday in July 2015. Warlock Records is a record label based in New York City that was founded in 1985 by Adam Levy (born 1962), whose father was record producer Morris Levy. ''Vendetta'' is the second album by rapper Mic Geronimo, released on November 4, 1997 through TVT Records. The album featured production from a wide range of hip hop producers including legends like Marley Marl and Pete Rock. It was an improvement on the ''Billboard'' charts over his previous album, peaking at number 112 on the ''Billboard'' 200 and number 20 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. The album also featured his only ''Billboard'' Hot 100 hit, " Nothin' Move But the Money", which managed to find minor-success and peaked at number 70 on the chart. The album is now out of print. There is a version of "Usual Suspects" which features Hussein Fatal in place of Tragedy Khadafi and The Lox. It is uncertain which version of the song is the original. ''Johnson Family Vacation'' is a 2004 American road comedy film directed by Christopher Erskin. It stars Cedric the Entertainer, Vanessa Williams, Bow Wow, Gabby Soleil, Shannon Elizabeth, Solange Knowles, and Steve Harvey. The story revolves around the Johnson family going on a road trip to attend a family reunion in Missouri and the numerous hijinks they occur along the way. The film is director Erskin's first and only feature film directorial project to date. It also marks the feature film debut of Jason Momoa. A sequel, titled ''Johnson Family Celebration'', is in development.
