Miami Ironside
Miami Ironside is an urban art and design district located in Miami's Upper Eastside, off of the MiMo Historic Biscayne Boulevard. The stretch of industrial warehouses was acquired in by local developer Ofer Mizrahi and envisioned as an interconnected network of mixed-purpose architectural complexes. An extension of the development is the Miami Art Space Gallery, located in the Wynwood Art District. On the facade of the building is the mural painting "Confetti" by artist Kenneth Treister. Miami Ironside is home to 65 designer showrooms, art galleries, architecture firms, creative services, and a public piazza with permanent Berlin Wall sculptures painted by street artist Thierry Noir. Berlin Wall
The Berlin Wall (german: Berliner Mauer, ) was a guarded concrete barrier that encircled West Berlin from 1961 to 1989, separating it from East Berlin and East Germany (GDR). Construction of the Berlin Wall was commenced by the government of the GDR on 13 August 1961. It included guard towers placed along large concrete walls, accompanied by a wide area (later known as the "death strip") that contained anti-vehicle trenches, beds of nails and other defenses. The Eastern Bloc portrayed the Wall as protecting its population from fascist elements conspiring to prevent the "will of the people" from building a socialist state in the GDR. Buena Vista (Miami)
Buena Vista is a neighborhood in Miami, Florida, United States. It is located south of Little Haiti, north of the Miami Design District. Buena Vista is primarily a residential neighborhood with historic single-family homes primarily from the 1920s. The Buena Vista East Historic District is located in Buena Vista, and includes some of the oldest homes in the neighborhood. Wynwood is a neighborhood in Miami, Florida. Wynwood is known for being an entertainment district, with artwork, restaurants, breweries, clothing stores, dance venues, among other retail options. Midtown Miami
Midtown Miami is the collective term for the Wynwood and Edgewater neighborhoods of Miami, Florida. It is located north of Downtown and south of the Miami Design District and is roughly bound by North 20th Street to the south, I-195 to the north, I-95 to the west, and Biscayne Bay to the east. In 2005, construction began on the "Midtown Miami" development between North 29th and 36th Street and Miami Avenue and the Florida East Coast Railway (FEC) on what was historically an FEC rail yard. MiMo
In radio, multiple-input and multiple-output, or MIMO (), is a method for multiplying the capacity of a radio link using multiple transmission and receiving antennas to exploit multipath propagation. MIMO has become an essential element of wireless communication standards including IEEE 802.11n (Wi-Fi 4), IEEE 802.11ac (Wi-Fi 5), HSPA+ (3G), WiMAX, and Long Term Evolution (LTE). Thierry Noir
Thierry Noir (born 1958) is a French artist and muralist based in Berlin. He is considered the first artist to paint the Berlin Wall in the 1980s. He created brightly-colored paintings across large spans of the Berlin Wall and some of these original paintings can still be seen on surviving segments of the Wall in art collections and on the East Side Gallery. Noir's work and style are now considered iconic, and Noir is also regarded as one of the forerunners of the street art movement as a whole. He continues to create murals worldwide in cities including London, Los Angeles, and Sydney. Early life Thierry Noir was born in Lyon, France, in 1958. Kenneth Treister
Kenneth Treister, FAIA is an American architect, architectural historian, sculptor, photographer, author and lecturer. He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects and is best known for the Holocaust Memorial he built in Miami Beach, Florida. In 1985, Treister received a commission to design, build, and sculpt a Holocaust Memorial in Miami Beach. The Memorial opened in February 1990 and welcomes thousands of visitors every year. Personal life Kenneth Treister was born in 1930. His father, Arthur Treister, a real estate businessman, and his mother, Anita Treister moved to Miami Beach from Flushing, Queens when he was a baby.
