Mevo'ot Yam
Mevo'ot Yam ( he, מְבוֹאוֹת יָם, ''lit.'' Sea Gate) is a youth village on the coast of Israel. Located on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea adjacent to Mikhmoret, it falls under the jurisdiction of Hefer Valley Regional Council. In it had a student population of . Mikhmoret Light is located on a building inside the village. History The village was established in 1951 and named after the biblical term for "gateways of the sea" (Ezekiel 27:3) By 1962 it had a population of 400. Hefer Valley Regional Council
The Hefer Valley Regional Council ( he, מועצה אזורית עמק חפר, ''Mo'atza Azorit Emek Hefer'') is a regional council in the Hefer Valley region of the Sharon plain in central Israel. It is named after an administrative district in this area in the time of King Solomon (). The council covers an area adjacent to Hadera in the north, to Netanya in the south, to the Mediterranean in the west and to Tulkarm and the Green Line in the east. As of December 2020, the jurisdiction area of the council has a population of about 42,600 people. Youth Village
A youth village ( he, כפר נוער, ''Kfar No'ar'') is a boarding school model first developed in Mandatory Palestine in the 1930s to care for groups of children and teenagers fleeing the Nazis. Henrietta Szold and Recha Freier were the pioneers in this sphere, known as youth aliyah, creating an educational facility that was a cross between a European boarding school and a kibbutz. History The first youth village was Mikve Israel. In the 1940s and 1950s, a period of mass immigration to Israel, youth villages were an important tool in immigrant absorption. Youth villages were established during this period by the Jewish Agency, WIZO, and Na'amat. Mikhmoret
Mikhmoret ( he, מִכְמֹרֶת, מכמורת, ''lit.'' Fishing net) is a moshav in central Israel. Located on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea around nine kilometres north of Netanya, it falls under the jurisdiction of Hefer Valley Regional Council. In it had a population of . History The moshav was founded in 1945 by demobilization, demobilised soldiers from the British Army, and was named Mikhmoret due to the profession of many of the founders being fishers. The moshav expanded onto lands of the depopulated Palestinians, Palestinian village of 'Arab al-Nufay'at, whose inhabitants were expelled by an order issued by the Haganah from 10 April 1948.
