Mevar Kumar Jamatia
Mevar Kumar Jamatia (born 5 June 1968), is a Tiprasa Indian Politician from Tripura. He is the former Minister of Tribal Welfare, Industries and Commerce, and Forest in Biplab Kumar Deb ministry. He became the MLA from Asharambari Constituency by defeating CPI(M) candidate Aghore Debbarma by a margin of 6,987 votes. Early life and education Jamatia joined NEHU, Meghlaya for his B.A. studies. He completed his Masters in sociology from NEHU in 1995. He was an active leader of the Twipra Students' Federation (TSF) becoming the General Secretary later. Political career In 2018, Mevar Kumar Jamatia took oath as the cabinet minister for Tribal Welfare, Industries & Commerce, and Forestries in the Biplab Deb Ministry. The Communist Party of India (Marxist) (abbreviated as CPI(M)/CPIM/CPM) is a Marxist–Leninist communist political party in India. 2018 Tripura Legislative Assembly Election
The 2018 Tripura Legislative Assembly election was held on 18 February for 59 of the state's 60 constituencies. The counting of votes took place on 3 March 2018. With 43.59% of the vote, the BJP secured a majority of seats (36) and subsequently formed the government with Biplab Kumar Deb as Chief Minister. The former governing Left Front alliance while receiving 44.35% of the vote secured only 16 seats. Background The term of the Tripura Legislative Assembly ended on 6 March 2018. 2023 Tripura Legislative Assembly Election
2023 Tripura Legislative Assembly elections were held on 16 February 2023 to elect all 60 members of the Tripura Legislative Assembly. The votes were counted and the results were declared on 2 March 2023. The Bharatiya Janata Party won a simple majority, defeating its rivals Secular Democratic Forces and the Tipra Motha Party. The Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura (IPFT) is a regional political party in Tripura, India. It is a member of the National Democratic Alliance and North-East Democratic Alliance. The party was merged into the Indigenous Nationalist Party of Tripura (INPT) in 2001, However diverged out in 2009.
