Meus Prêmios Nick ( My Nick Awards), often abbreviated as MPN, is the Brazilian version of the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards (KCA). The event is one of the largest award shows for children's television in the country. The Brazilian version is one of the eleven countries in the world that holds a localised version of the Kids' Choice Awards. The first bout of the Meus Prêmios Nick was held in 2000, hosted by Márcio Garcia. Nickelodeon is a Brazilian pay television channel focused on kids programming. It was launched in 1996 as an autonomous feed of Nickelodeon Latin America in Portuguese with different programming and series. History Nickelodeon Brazil was launched on 20 December 1996 in Brazil as a children-oriented channel, being the main competitor of Cartoon Network, which was launched 3 years earlier. On 13 February 2006, Nick at Nite was launched in Brazil, and aired on weeknights from 10 pm to 6 am. On 4 June 2007, the channel launched "Nickers", a live-action show with two hosts introducing shows and music. It followed the same line and was very similar to Disney Channel's '' Zapping Zone''. The block was retired in all feeds in December 2008. Also in 2008, a Nick Jr. channel had launched, previously a programming block on Nickelodeon. Rodrigo Faro
Rodrigo Alcazar Faro (born 20 October 1973) is a Brazilian television presenter, actor and singer. Career He started his career at the age of 9 in 1982 when he participated in a milk commercial. As a child he was a model and presenter of the children's program ZYB Bom on TV Bandeirantes. At 19, he integrated the boyband Dominó, before graduating in radio and TV by the University of São Paulo. In 1996 he starred his first telenovela, ''Antônio Alves, Taxista'', on SBT. In 2008, he moved to RecordTV to present '' Ídolos''. However, before making his debut in the musical reality, he was called to quickly replace presenter Márcio Garcia in ''O Melhor do Brasil''.
