Mettu Aata
Mettu Aata is a class of dancing performed by the inhabitants of southern India. It is considered to be a beautiful dance with slow articulated movements. Most of the "Badaga Hatties" dance to the tunes of "Mettu Aata" with special reference to "B.Manihatty" which is known for its refined version. "Mettu Aata" in native Badaga language means "Foot tap dance". "Aata" means dance. Badaga Language
Badaga is a southern Dravidian language spoken by the Badaga people of the Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu. The language is closely related to the Tamil and Kannada languages. Of all the tribal languages spoken in Nilgiris (Badaga, Toda language, Kota language (India)), Badaga is the most spoken language. Writing system Several attempts have been made at constructing an orthography based on English, Kannada and Tamil. The earliest printed book using Kannada script was a Christian work, "Anga Kartagibba Yesu Kristana Olleya Suddiya Pustaka" by Basel Mission Press of Mangaluru in 1890. Badaga can also be written in the Kannada script and Tamil script. ''Dance India Dance'' (also called by the acronym ''DID''; tagline: ''Dance Ka Asli ID D.I.D.'') is an Indian Hindi-language dance competition reality television series that airs on Zee TV, created and produced by Essel Vision Productions. It premiered on 30 January 2009. Here the judges are called ''Masters'' and Mithun Chakraborty was called ''Grand Master (until season 6)''. Season 7 premiered with a different concept. The show features a format where dancers from a variety of styles enter open auditions held in Indian metropolitan cities to showcase their unique style and talents and, if allowed to move forward, are then put through mega-audition rounds of auditions to test their ability to adapt to different styles.
