Mette Lindberg (born 2 December 1983) is a Danish vocalist for psychedelic pop group The Asteroids Galaxy Tour, paired with songwriter/producer Lars Iversen.Lester, Paul (September 5, 2008)"No 389: The Asteroids Galaxy Tour".''The Guardian'' The band has produced three studio albums to date, ''Fruit'', '' Out of Frequency'', and '' Bring Us Together''. Herlev is a suburb about 9 km northwest of Copenhagen city centre. It is the site of the municipal council of Herlev Municipality, Denmark. Psychedelic pop (or acid pop) is pop music that contains musical characteristics associated with psychedelic music. Developing in the late 1960s, elements included " trippy" features such as fuzz guitars, tape manipulation, backwards recording, sitars, and Beach Boys-style harmonies, wedded to melodic songs with tight song structures. The style lasted into the early 1970s. It has seen revivals in subsequent decades by neo-psychedelic artists. Characteristics According to AllMusic, psychedelic pop was not too "freaky", but also not very "bubblegum" either. It appropriated the effects associated with straight psychedelic music, applying their innovations to concise pop songs. The Asteroids Galaxy Tour is a Danish pop band consisting of vocalist Mette Lindberg and songwriter/producer Lars Iversen, formed in 2007. When performing live the band extends to a five-piece, featuring Mikkel Balster Dørig (guitar), Simon Littauer (MPC and keys) and Rasmus Littauer (drums). History In 2007, The Asteroids Galaxy Tour was formed in Copenhagen, Denmark. Soon after being recorded, the band's demo was heard by the management of Amy Winehouse, who asked the group to be her opening act in Copenhagen. This was the band's first proper live show. Not long after that, the track "Around the Bend" was chosen by Apple to be used in the new iPod Touch commercial to be aired worldwide from December 2008. Following the success of the commercial, "Around the Bend" went on to become the band's biggest single to date, helping to launch the band onto the international stage.
