Metro Morelos
Morelos is a metro station, station on the Mexico City Metro. It is located in Venustiano Carranza, D.F., Venustiano Carranza borough, in the north of Mexico City. General information The station logo depicts the profile of José María Morelos y Pavón, second instigator of the Mexican War of Independence, War of Independence of 1810. Its name refers to the neighborhood which it serves. This station has a peculiar feature; it is the only one that has two different logos: one, the profile of Morelos shown above; the other, a ¾-view of him. Both logos were stylized reproductions of Mexican peso, peso coins from the 1980s. Today the ¾-view logo is used only in the Line 4 area of the station. Morelos was originally to be named Metro Terminal Tapo, referring to the Terminal de Autobuses de Pasajeros de Oriente, eastern intercity bus station. Mexican War Of Independence
The Mexican War of Independence ( es, Guerra de Independencia de México, links=no, 16 September 1810 – 27 September 1821) was an armed conflict and political process resulting in Mexico's independence from Spain. Terminal de Autobuses de Pasajeros de Oriente (Eastern Passenger Bus Terminal), better known by the acronym TAPO, is an inter-city bus station in Mexico City. It is located next to and conjoined with the Metro San Lázaro station, in the Venustiano Carranza, D.F., Venustiano Carranza borough in the eastern part of Mexico City. Designed by architect Juan José Díaz Infante Núñez, Juan José Diaz Infante Núñez, it is marked by its very large dome covering the structure. The outer rim of the circular interior contains ticket counters and boarding areas for bus lines. The center contains a food court and other businesses. The terminal serves travelers to fourteen states in the country, primarily to the east and south of Mexico City, such as to Puebla, Veracruz, Oaxaca and the Yucatan Peninsula.
