Metro FM Music Awards
The 15th installment of the annual Metro FM Music Awards is an award ceremony that celebrates excellence in the South African music industry by honouring musicians who did exceedingly well in their field throughout 2015. The show first aired on SABC 1 on February 27, 2016. The winner in each category will receive a R100,000 prize for each category they win. Metro FM is investing in musicians; building wealth and benefiting financially from their trade over and above the artistic recognition that comes with the MMA's coveted statuette. This will be the first installment of the award show to include a new category, namely the Pan-African Category. Nathi and Sphectacular & DJ Naves led the nominations with five each, followed by Riky Rick and Emtee with four nominations each, and AKA, Fifi Cooper and Black Coffee with three nominations each. Metro FM
Metro FM is a national radio station in South Africa owned by the South African Broadcasting Corporation. The station broadcasts on FM Stereo as well as the DStv Bouquet Channel 801. Telephone : History The station started broadcasting in October, 1986 as Radio Metro to compete with the now defunct Radio Bop. Zahara (South African Musician)
Bulelwa Mkutukana, best known by her stage name Zahara, is a South African singer and songwriter born on November 9, 1987. After signing a record deal with TS Records, Mkutukana's debut album, ''Loliwe'' (2011), went double platinum. Her second album, '' Phendula'' (2013), produced three chart-topping singles " Phendula", "Impilo", and "Stay". Zahara's third album, '' Country Girl'' (2015), was certified triple platinum. Cassper Nyovest
Refiloe Maele Phoolo (born 16 December 1990), professionally known as Cassper Nyovest, is a South African rapper, songwriter, entrepreneur, record producer and amateur boxer. Born and raised in Mahikeng, North West, he is regarded as one of the most successful artists in South Africa. In 2014, he established his own record label, Family Tree Records. Nyovest rose to fame with the release of his debut studio album, ''Tsholofelo'' (2014) which produced the hit singles "Gusheshe" and " Doc Shebeleza". Tumi Molekane
Tumi Molekane (born 16 August 1981) is a Tanzanian-born South African rapper and poet. He was the lead vocalist of Tumi and the Volume, that was officially disbanded in 2012. In 2016 Tumi relaunched himself as Stogie T and released an eponymous album titled '' 'Stogie T' '' which featured Da L.E.S, Lastee, Emtee, Nasty C, Nadia Nakai & Yanga. He has 2 singles from the album. The first single "Diamond Walk" features rapper Nadia Nakai in the video. Donald Moatshe (born 7 February 1985), commonly known by the mononym Donald, is a South African Afro-soul singer, songwriter, recording artist and entertainer. He was born in the town of Rustenburg, in the North-West province. His career began at an early age, and he signed a record deal with the Will of Steel Imprint in 2008. Senzo Brikka Vilakazi (born 11 August 1988) known professionally as Kwesta, is a South African people, South African rapper and songwriter. Born in Katlehong, Gauteng, a township also known as "K1". Mi Casa
Mi Casa is a house trio based in Johannesburg, South Africa and consisting of three members, Dr. Duda (producer and pianist), J'Something (vocalist and guitarist), and Mo-T (trumpeter). The band was formed in early 2011 in Johannesburg when all three future members were at a night lounge and decided to perform together.
