''Meteor Rain'' () is the debut Mandarin studio album of Taiwanese Mandopop quartet boy band F4. It was released on 28 August 2001 by Sony Music Taiwan. The Hong Kong version of the album is an audio visual CD (AVCD) which includes two music videos.as listed in the Music Video section The album is organized in the style of a split album with two tracks by each of the F4 members and two tracks collectively as F4. The leading track "" (Meteor Rain, a Chinese cover song of Gaining Through Losing by Ken Hirai) is listed at number 11 on Hit Fm Taiwan's ''Hit Fm Annual Top 100 Singles Chart'' () for 2001 as well as the theme song for the 2001 Taiwanese drama series of the same title. The album was awarded one of the ''Top 10 Selling Mandarin Albums of the Year'' at the 2002 IFPI Hong Kong Album Sales Awards, presented by the Hong Kong branch of IFPI. F4 (band)
F4 (Flower Four) or JVKV was a Taiwanese boy band consisting of Jerry Yan, Vanness Wu, Ken Chu, and Vic Chou. The group F4 was formed in 2001 after the Taiwanese drama '' Meteor Garden'' that they starred in was widely successful. Together they have starred in several Taiwanese drama series and released three albums, ''Meteor Rain'' (2001), '' Fantasy 4ever'' (2002), and '' Waiting for You'' (2007). According to ''Forbes'', F4 has sold 3.5 million copies of their first two albums all over Asia as of July 2003. In 2007, due to copyright issues, the group changed its name to JVKV, using the descending age of the initials of its members. Other than their country of origin, Taiwan, they have also attained popularity in other parts of Asia, such as the Philippines, mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, and South Korea. Jerry Yan (), born Liao Yangzhen (), is a Taiwanese actor, model and singer. He is well known for his lead role as Daoming Si in the Taiwanese dramas ''Meteor Garden (2001 TV series), Meteor Garden'' and ''Meteor Garden II'', an adaptation of a Boys Over Flowers, Japanese shōjō manga. He is also a former member of the boy band group F4 (band), F4. Early life Jerry Yan was born Liao Yangzhen in Taoyuan, Taiwan, Taoyuan, Taiwan. Vanness Wu (; born August 7, 1978) is a Taiwanese-American singer and actor. He is a member of the Taiwanese boyband F4 and the Korean Mandopop duo Kangta & Vanness.
