Metcalfe Jets
The Metcalfe Jets are a Junior "C" ice hockey team based out of Metcalfe, Ontario. They initially played in Junior "B" out of the Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League which was re-branded to the Central Canada Hockey League 2. For the 2017-18 season the franchise became members of the National Capital Junior Hockey League. History Following the 2014-15 season the Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League and the Central Canada Hockey League became associated. There were changes to the Junior B league including the re-branding, reduction of teams, and association with a revised midget league. The new EOJHL became the Central Canada Hockey League Tier 2 and the Jets were part of the Martin Division. Starting the 2017-18 season the Jets moved to the National Capital Junior Hockey League changing from junior "B" to junior "C" level hockey. Metcalfe, Ontario
Metcalfe is a Population centre (Canada), population centre located in Osgoode Ward, in the rural south-end of the city of Ottawa, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Prior to amalgamation in 2001, the community was in Osgoode Township, Ontario, Osgoode Township. According to the Canada 2016 Census, it has a population of 1,776. National Capital Junior Hockey League
The National Capital Junior Hockey League (NCJHL) is a Junior ice hockey league in Ontario, Canada, sanctioned by the Hockey Eastern Ontario and Hockey Canada. The league is meant to be an interprovincial league between Ontario and Quebec. History From 1968 until 2010, the league was known as the Eastern Ontario Junior C Hockey League. At the start of the 2010-2011 regular season, the league was rebranded under its new name - National Capital Junior Hockey League (NCJHL). In April 2015, the NCJHL accepted the application of the Morrisburg Lions to join the league for starting in the 2015-2016 season. The Lions were one of six teams dropped when the Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League re-configured and re-branded as the Central Canada Hockey League Tier 2. The Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) is a Canadian Junior "A" ice hockey league operating in eastern Ontario, Canada. The league is sanctioned by the Hockey Eastern Ontario and Hockey Canada and is a member of the Canadian Junior Hockey League. The winner of the CCHL playoffs competes for the Fred Page Cup — the Eastern Region championship of the Canadian Junior Hockey League — with the winners of the Quebec Junior AAA Hockey League and the Maritime Junior A Hockey League. Clarence Castors
The Clarence Castors are a Canadian Junior ice hockey team from Clarence, Ontario, Canada. They are part of the National Capital Junior Hockey League. The Castors operated from 1987-2017 as the Rockland Nationals in Rockland, Ontario. History The original Nationals were founded in 1973 to replace the Hull Festivals who had just left the Central Junior A Hockey League for the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. In just three season the Nationals, coached by Bryan Murray, won the league, the Dudley Hewitt Cup as Central Canadian champions, and the Centennial Cup 1976 National Championship. Unfortunately for them, in those days the teams played sets of best-of-seven series to determine the national champion. Marc Savard
Marc Savard (born July 17, 1977) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre and current head coach of the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). He played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the New York Rangers (who originally drafted him in 1995), Calgary Flames, Atlanta Thrashers and Boston Bruins. He was an assistant coach for the St. Louis Blues during the 2019–20 season. Savard's career ended late in the 2010–11 season due to post-concussion syndrome. He did not formally announce his retirement until the conclusion of his contract with Boston after the 2016–17 season.
