Merv Griffin Entertainment is an American production company founded by American media mogul Merv Griffin on May 13, 1996. It is part of The Griffin Group. Its productions include revivals of recent franchises, such as ''Dance Fever'', revived in 2003 for ABC Family. Merv Griffin Entertainment owns ''The Merv Griffin Show'' (licensed under Reelin' In The Years Productions) and ''Dance Fever''. The television division was run by Yani-Brune Entertainment from 2005 to 2008; hand-picked by Griffin himself. In 2008, ShineReveille International made a deal with Merv Griffin Entertainment to distribute all of MGE programming overseas. Griffin's previous production company was Merv Griffin Enterprises, which he sold to The Coca-Cola Company on May 5, 1986. Freestyle Releasing, LLC is an independent film distributor based in Los Angeles, California, founded in 2004, specializing in releasing films theatrically. Unlike most distributors, Freestyle Releasing does not put up any prints and advertising money for its releases, leaving advertising costs to production companies. History Freestyle Releasing was founded in 2004 by Susan Jackson, Mark Borde and Mike Doban, formerly at United Artists Theaters. By January 2006, Jackson started the DVD label Freestyle Home Entertainment as an adjunct for additional leeway in its deal making. It was formerly used as Harvey and Bob Weinstein's label within Miramax, which was acquired by The Walt Disney Company on June 30, 1993, to produce and release independent films and genre titles, specifically horror and science fiction films. RKO Radio Pictures Inc., commonly known as RKO Pictures or simply RKO, was an American film production and distribution company, one of the "Big Five" film studios of Hollywood's Golden Age. The business was formed after the Keith-Albee-Orpheum (KAO) theater chain and Joseph P. Kennedy's Film Booking Offices of America (FBO) studio were brought together under the control of the Radio Corporation of America (RCA) in October 1928.
