Mersin State Art and Sculpture Museum ( tr, Mersin Devlet Resim ve Heykel Müzesi) is a museum in Mersin, Turkey. The museum is in the centrum at . It is in a neighborhood known for galleries and Art Club of İçel. The construction date of the building is not known. Probably it was an inn for the villagers in the early days of Mersin. There were stables in the ground floor. Later it was converted to a hotel and was purchased by a family from Gülnar ilçe (district) . They named the hotel ''Gülnar Oteli'' ("Hotel Gülnar"). During the age of modern hotels, Hotel Gülnar was closed and was left alone for about twenty years. Gülnar is a district of Mersin Province of Turkey, south-west of the city of Mersin. Geography The town of Gülnar is inland on a plain high in the Taurus Mountains, attractive countryside known for its vineyards and its green meadows used for summer grazing. Mustafa İstemihan Talay (born 1945) is a Turkish politician and former government minister. Early life İstemihan Talay was born to İbrahim Rifat and Emine in Tarsus ilçe (district) of Mersin Province in 1945. He completed Tarsus American College in 1964, and studied in the Faculty of Political Sciences in Ankara University.
