Mersin Büyükşehir Belediyesi SK (''English: Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club'') also known simply as Mersin BB is a basketball team based in the city of Mersin in Turkey, currently playing in the Turkish Basketball First League (TBL). It is sponsorship by Mersin Metropolitan Municipality. Their home arena is the Edip Buran Arena with a capacity of 1,750 seats. History Mersin Büyükşehir Belediyesi was founded in 1993. The team was promotion 2004-2005 season to Turkish Basketball League from Turkish Second Basketball League. After spending 9 years in the top league, the team relegated to the TB2L in 2013-2014 season. Turkish Basketball First League
The Turkish Basketball First League, also called TBL, is the second-tier level league of professional club basketball in Turkey. The league was previously known as Turkish Basketball Second League (TB2L). Format and promotion and relegation There are a total of 16 teams participating in the league for the ''2019–20 TBL season''. Each team plays each other in their group twice during the regular season. Team finishes at first place promotes to the top-tier level Turkish Basketball Super League (BSL) for the next season, teams ranked 2nd place to 9th place, compete in playoff format and winner of the playoff also promotes. Harun Erdenay
Hakkı Harun Erdenay (born 27 May 1968 in Ankara) (nickname: "Pegasus") is a Turkish former professional basketball player, and former President of the Turkish Basketball Federation. As a player, he was famous for his spectacular 3-point shooting. At a height of 1.90 m (6'3") tall, he played in shooting guard and small forward positions. Keddric Mays (born September 17, 1984) is an American professional basketball player for Baltur Cento of the Italian Serie A2 Basket. College career Mays played junior college basketball at Cloud County Community College before moving to University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he graduated in 2007. Antwain La'Mar Barbour (born June 27, 1982) is an American former professional basketball player who last played for Hoops Club of the Lebanese Basketball League.
