Masterpiece (band)
Masterpiece is an Iban language, Iban rock band, which formed in 2003 as Masterjam in Sibu, Sarawak best known for its hit singles, "Sinu (Masterpiece song), Sinu", "Kumang Seari" & "Ngarap Ka Nuan Nikal Pulai (Masterpiece song), Ngarap Ka Nuan Nikal Pulai". The band comprises vocalist Depha Masterpiece, lead guitarist Willy Edwin, bassist Watt Marcus, drummer Harold Vincent, keyboardist Valentine Jimmy and Roslee Qadir. The group was renamed Masterpiece in 2005 after Depha was hired as the band's new vocalist. Hard Rock
Hard rock or heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and distorted electric guitars. "Sinu" is a song by the Iban rock band Masterpiece. It was released in 2009 as the lead single from their first studio album, '' Merindang Ke Bintang''. "Sinu" was Masterpiece's major single which helped to place them in the Sarawak music scene and the song has been recognized as one of Masterpiece's signature songs and has been covered on numerous occasions and shows. Sarawak Music Awards is a music award held in the Malaysian state of Sarawak. It is divided into three major events that are given the most attention by the fans, media, and record companies in Sarawak. Shortlisted as the Anugerah Musik Dayak (AMD) awards, Anugerah Juara Rentak Ruai (AJARR) awards and the Anugerah Carta Sapa Juara (ACSJ) awards. Depha Masterpiece
Depha Masterpiece is a Malaysian rock musician, songwriter, arranger, and producer from Sarawak. He is best known as the lead vocalist and primary songwriter of the Bornean hard rock band, Masterpiece. Raised in Sabah, Depha moved to Sarawak in the early 1990s, where he became active in the local hard rock scene and joined several bands, including Silent Killer and Black Monkey. In 2005, he joined Masterpiece, with whom he enjoyed great success and recognition in the late 2000s. Kennedy Edwin is an Iban language Malaysian musician who serves as the rhythm and vocals for hard rock band Masterpiece. Along with his brother Willy Edwin, he is one of the founding members of Masterpiece, and has since released five studio albums with the band. Career Masterpiece (2003–present) Kennedy Edwin is a founding member of the Bornean hard rock band Masterpiece (''Masterjam'' 2003–2005). He formed the band with his brother Willy Edwin (lead guitar) in 2003 along with Watt Marcus and Roni joining as bassist and drummer, respectively. Edwin was the lead singer for the band until 2005, when he began to focus on his guitar playing, he and Willy recruited Depha as the vocalist for the band. Willy Edwin (born 4 December 1974), better known by his stage name Will Masterpiece, is a Malaysian rock musician best known as the co-founder and the primary lead guitarist of the Bornean hard rock band Masterpiece, with whom he achieved mainstream success in the late 2000s. Edwin co-founded Masterpiece, formerly known as Masterjam with his brother Kennedy Edwin in 2003, and has since released five studio albums with the band. Like the other left-handed guitarist, Edwin had the instrument strung upside-down with the high E on the top.
