Merete Ahnfeldt-Mollerup
Merete Ahnfeldt-Mollerup (born 1963) is a Danish architect, university professor and writer about architecture. Associate professor of Kunstakademiets Arkitektskole, she has authored numerous articles, papers and books. She is a member of the Danish Royal Academy and the Danish Centre for Design Research. The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture (Danish: ''Det Kongelige Danske Kunsakademi, Arkitektskolen'') or Kunstakademiets Arkitektskole is an institution of higher education in Copenhagen, Denmark under the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation (''Det Kongelige Danske Kunsakademi'', often abbreviated as KADK), which is the oldest architecture and art school in the world, for more than 250 years. Structure The School of Architecture contains four institutes, operating independently of each other. The school offers four bachelor degree programs, each three years long, and ten master degree programs, each two years long. The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts ( da, Det Kongelige Danske Kunstakademi - Billedkunst Skolerne) has provided education in the arts for more than 250 years, playing its part in the development of the art of Denmark. History The Royal Danish Academy of Portraiture, Sculpture, and Architecture in Copenhagen was inaugurated on 31 March 1754, and given as a gift to the King Frederik V on his 31st birthday. Its name was changed to the Royal Danish Academy of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture in 1771. At the same event, Johann Friedrich Struensee introduced a new scheme in the academy to encourage artisan apprentices to take supplementary classes in drawing so as to develop the notion of "good taste". The Danish Centre for Design Research was an organization under the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science that was established in 2004 with the purpose of promoting design research and design research environments at the schools of design and architecture in Denmark.
