Merel de Knegt (born 9 May 1979 in Tilburg) is a Dutch runner. She is the sister of Gerben de Knegt. Her sole major international outing for the Netherlands was the 2006 IAAF World Road Running Championships, where she came 47th overall. She won the 2009 Rotterdam Half Marathon. Merel Else Mooren (born 22 September 1982) is a Dutch professional beach volleyball and indoor volleyball player born in Haarlem. In indoor volleyball Mooren started her career in 1989 at Allides Haarlem where she was part of the youth teams. The Dutch youth team called her up in 1996 and she was part of the team until 2000, winning a silver medal at the European Youth Championships. From 1997 until 2002 she played for Martinus Amstelveen in the highest Dutch league. Then she decided to switch sports to beach volleyball. She started her international beach volleyball career in 2002, teaming up with Mered de Vries. The talented team did not last long and in the following year Mooren had a new partner called Sanne Keizer. They quickly became one of the best teams in The Netherlands. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he took an interest in acting while still in school and pursued the career upon completion of his studies. Merel Witteveen (born 12 May 1985, in Leiden) is a sailor from the Netherlands. Witteveen represented her country at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Qingdao. With fellow crew member Annemieke Bes and Mandy Mulder as helmsman, Witteveen took Silver medal in the Yngling. Sailing career Witteveen started sailing in 1995 and competes in international level since 1999 where she started in the Optimist. After the European Championship in Athens she switched to the Europe. Witteveen won a silver medal at the 2003 European Junior Championship. At the Open Week World Championships in Spain she finished 9th and her next goal was to qualify for the 2004 Summer Olympics, but these came to early for Witteveen.
