Merchant Shipping Act
Merchant Shipping Act (with its variations) is a stock short title used in Malaysia and the United Kingdom for legislation relating to merchant shipping. Merchant shipping acts and regulations also exist as well in other countries, and they are sometimes referred to as "Merchant Shipping Act" such as in Malta, India, Singapore, Kenya and South Africa. Short Title
In certain jurisdictions, including the United Kingdom and other Westminster-influenced jurisdictions (such as Canada or Australia), as well as the United States and the Philippines, primary legislation has both a short title and a long title. Merchant Shipping (Scottish Fishing Boats) Act 1920
The Merchant Shipping (Scottish Fishing Boats) Act 1920 (10 & 11 Geo. V c. 39) was an Act of Parliament concerning fishing in Scotland. It became law on 16 August 1920. It provided that Part IV of the Merchant Shipping Act 1894 would apply to Scotland. The Act came into force from 1 October 1920. It was repealed by the Merchant Shipping Act 1995.
