The C209/A209 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class is the second generation of the Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class range of mid-size / compact executive car, compact executive coupes produced between 2002 and 2010. The body styles of the range are: * 2-door coupé (C209) * 2-door convertible (A209) In 2003, the CLK 55 AMG was used as a safety car#Formula One, F1 safety car. The CLK 63 AMG was also used as a F1 safety car for the 2006 and 2007 seasons. It was replaced by the Mercedes-Benz E-Class (C207), Mercedes-Benz C207/A207 E-Class in 2010. In some cases, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class (C205), Mercedes-Benz C205/A205 C-Class also replaced it; with the 43 and 63 AMG versions being the sole example (as replacements for the CLK 55 and CLK 63). Mercedes-Benz M272 Engine
The Mercedes-Benz M272 engine is an automobile piston V6 engine family used in the 2000s (decade). Introduced in 2004, it is based on the M112 V6 introduced in 1998. All M272 engines have aluminum engine blocks with a 90° V-angle with silicon/aluminum lined cylinders. The aluminum DOHC cylinder heads have 4 valves per cylinder. All have forged steel connecting rods, one-piece cast crankshaft, iron-coated aluminum pistons and a magnesium intake manifold. Like the M112, a balance shaft is installed in the engine block between the cylinder banks to deal with vibrations in the 90 degree V6 design. This essentially eliminates first and second order moments. A dual-length Variable Length Intake Manifold is fitted to optimize engine flexibility. Continuous VVT was adopted for the first time.
