Mentor (A'lars)
Mentor (A'lars) is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character first appeared in ''Iron Man'' #55 (February 1973), and was created by Jim Starlin. Mentor is the leader of the Titanian colony where he is the father of Thanos and Starfox, the son of Kronos, the brother of Zuras, and the nephew of Uranos. His back-story was based on Greek mythology. Some years later, he was retconned to be a member of the Eternals, a race in the Marvel Universe created by Jack Kirby, separately based on Greek mythology. Fictional character biography A'lars was the second son of Kronos and Daina, two of the first generation of The Eternals, and was born eons ago in the city of Titanos. A'lars and his brother Zuras were raised in the aftermath of the great civil war which divided the first colony of Eternals. M-11 Originally known as the Human Robot, the character was given the name "M-11" in the 2006 to 2007 ''Agents of Atlas'' miniseries as an allusion to its first appearance in '' Menace'' #11 from Marvel Comics' 1950s predecessor, Atlas Comics. In an alternate reality from mainstream Earth, a scientist's newly created robot is programmed by the scientist's greedy business manager to murder the scientist. The incomplete robot, however, continues through with his directive to "kill the man in the room", and kills the business manager when the man enters. The robot then leaves the house, programmed to "kill the man in the room" but ultimately falls off a pier into the sea and short-circuits. Shazam! (TV Series)
''Shazam!'' is a half-hour live-action television program that was produced for Saturday Mornings by Filmation (the studio's first non-animated series), based on the superhero Captain Marvel, also known as Shazam, of Fawcett Comics' comic book series ''Whiz Comics'' (now owned by DC Comics). The program starred Michael Gray as Billy Batson, a teenage boy who can transform into the superhero Captain Marvel, originally played by Jackson Bostwick and later by John Davey, by speaking the magic word "Shazam!" With his guardian "Mentor" (Les Tremayne), Billy travels the country in a 1973 Dodge Open Road motorhome, looking for injustices to resolve. The show ran from 1974 to 1976 on CBS's Saturday morning lineup. From 1975 to 1977 it was known as ''The Shazam!/Isis Hour'' and included ''The Secrets of Isis'', about an Ancient Egyptian superheroine resurrected in the body of a schoolteacher, as the second half of the hour.
