Menlo Avenue–West Twenty-ninth Street Historic District
The Menlo Avenue–West Twenty-ninth Street Historic District is a historic district in the North University Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, which is itself part of the city's West Adams district. The area consists of late Victorian and Craftsman-style homes dating back to 1896. The area is bounded by West Adams Boulevard on the north, Ellendale on the east, West Thirtieth Street on the south, and Vermont Avenue to the west. The district is noted for its well-preserved period architecture, reflecting the transition from late Victorian and shingle-styles to the American Craftsman style that took hold in Southern California in the early 1900s. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. Alpha Gamma Omega (, or AGO) was founded in 1927 at UCLA as a Christ-centered fraternities and sororities, fraternity. Alpha Gamma Omega now has chapters at universities in California, Colorado, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. It maintains a close relationship with its Christian sorority counterpart, Alpha Delta Chi, considered the fraternity's "sister sorority." Abraham Wesley Eager
Abram Wesley Eager (1864–1930) was an American architect. He designed many houses in Los Angeles, California. Early life Eager was born in 1864 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He moved to California in 1887 and settled in Los Angeles, California in 1901. Career Eager designed the Auditorium in Torrance, California, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. With Sumner Hunt and Silas Reese Burns, he designed the private residence of William G. Kerckhoff located at 1325 West Adams Boulevard, Exposition Park (Los Angeles), Exposition Park, Los Angeles in 1908-1909. It is now home to the Annenberg Center for Communication at the University of Southern California. In 1908, they designed the Hope Ranch Country Club in Hope Ranch, California.
