Meng Jinxi
Meng Jinxi (; born September 1944) is a lieutenant general in the People's Liberation Army of China who served as commander of the Tibet Military District from 1996 to 2004. He was a member of the 16th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party. He was a delegate to the 9th National People's Congress. He was a member of the Standing Committee of the 11th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. Biography Meng was born in Chongqing, in September 1944. He secondary studied at Chongqing Jianshan High School () and graduated from the PLA Military Academy. He enlisted in the People's Liberation Army (PLA) in September 1961, and joined the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in November 1964. He served in the Kunming Military District from July 1964 to November 1969 and the 94th Regiment of the 32nd Division of the PLA Ground Force from November 1969 to September 1980. 14th Army (People's Republic Of China)
The 14th Army was an army level formation of the People's Liberation Army. 14th Corps 14th Corps () was activated on February 14, 1949 basing on 4th Column of Zhongyuan Field Army and defecting Republic of China Army 110th Division. The corps commander was Li Chengfang, political commissar - Lei Rongtian. The Corps was composed of the 40th Division (People's Republic of China), 40th, the 41st Armed Police Mobile Division, 41st, and the 42nd Infantry Division (People's Republic of China), 42nd Divisions. Wang Zuxun (; born May 1936) is a general in the People's Liberation Army of China. He was a delegate to the 8th National People's Congress and a member of the Standing Committee of the 10th National People's Congress. Biography Wang was born in Qujing County (now Qujing), Yunnan, in May 1936. He enlisted in the People's Liberation Army (PLA) in June 1951, and joined the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in 1959. He graduated from the PLA Military Academy. He participated in the () during the Sino-Vietnamese War. In September 1985 he was promoted to become commander of the Yunnan Military District, a position he held until 1988, when he was made commander of the 14th Army. In December 1993, he became vice president of the PLA Academy of Military Sciences, rising to president in January 1999. Major general (abbreviated MG, maj. gen. and similar) is a military rank used in many countries. It is derived from the older rank of sergeant major general. Chengdu Military Region
The Chengdu Military Region was one of seven military districts and is located in the southwest of the People's Republic of China, covering Chongqing, Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, and the Xizang/Tibet Autonomous Region. It includes some of the area previously within the Kunming Military Region and has its headquarters in Chengdu. It was probably established in 1955. The Tibet Military Region was reduced to the status of a district in 1971.
