Memorial Stadium (Mesquite)
Memorial Stadium is a stadium in Mesquite, Texas. It was completed in 1976 and is located on the campus of West Mesquite High School, next to Mesquite Tower. The field is primarily used for football, and all five High Schools in Mesquite share use of the field. The stadium has a capacity of 19,400 people, making it the largest high school football stadium in Texas. Texas State Highway 352
State Highway 352 (SH 352) is a Texas state highway running from Dallas east through Mesquite before finally ending in Sunnyvale. The route mainly runs along Scyene Rd. The highway was designated on October 6, 1943 from U.S. Highway 80 in Mesquite west to U.S. Highway 175 southeast of Dallas, replacing part of SH 183 when it was relocated to the north, and was extended into Dallas on February 17, 1964 when US 175 was relocated to the west. On June 25, 1991, the section of SH 352 from I-30 to the old route of US 80 was cancelled and removed from the state highway system. Part of State Highway 352 runs in front of the State Fair of Texas, over a stretch named Robert B. Cullum Boulevard. American Football
American football (referred to simply as football in the United States and Canada), also known as gridiron, is a team sport played by two teams of eleven players on a rectangular field with goalposts at each end. The offense, the team with possession of the oval-shaped football, attempts to advance down the field by running with the ball or passing it, while the defense, the team without possession of the ball, aims to stop the offense's advance and to take control of the ball for themselves. Mesquite Tower
Mesquite Tower is a free-standing lattice tower located in Mesquite, Texas, United States, that is tall. It is the tallest structure in the city and a well known local landmark. The tower features a unique design called a Landmark or Adelphon tower and was built in 1990. It stands between West Mesquite High School and Memorial Stadium. Owned by the Mesquite Independent School District, it is a 61,000 watt radio tower used by the radio station KEOM which is operated by the school district. John Horn High School
Dr. John D. Horn High School is a secondary school in Mesquite, Texas, United States. The school serves the southern portion of Mesquite and the Mesquite ISD portion of Seagoville. John Horn High School, which serves grades 9 through 12, is a part of the Mesquite Independent School District. The school is under the UIL AAAAAA (or 6A) division. Mesquite High School (MHS) is a public high school in Mesquite, Texas, United States. It is part of the Mesquite Independent School District. It participates in the University Interscholastic League 6A division. History In the March 1901, the Mesquite Independent School District was incorporated at the behest of the citizens of Mesquite Texas to serve the primary and secondary educational needs of the city. The first school was established at the current site of MHS in 1902 with an enrollment of approximately 200 students. A new high school was built on the property in June 1923. MHS was officially recognized as an accredited high school in June 1924 by the Texas State Department of Education, thus allowing its students to attend Texas colleges and universities without having to take remedial coursework.
