Frances Ellen Bedford (born 5 November 1953) is an Australian politician who represented the South Australian House of Assembly seat of Electoral district of Florey, Florey from 1997 South Australian state election, 1997 state election until 2022 South Australian state election, 2022, first for the Australian Labor Party (South Australian Branch), Labor Party and from 2017 as an independent. Electoral District Of Frome
Frome is a single-member electoral district for the South Australian House of Assembly. It is named after Edward Charles Frome, the third surveyor-general of South Australia. The electorate stretches north-eastwards from the Gawler River and Gulf St Vincent in the south, and includes many of the agricultural areas of the Clare and Gilbert Valleys. It covers a total of and takes in the towns of Auburn, Clare, Mintaro, Port Broughton, Saddleworth, Snowtown and Riverton. Prior to the 2020 redistribution, its main population centre was Port Pirie, since transferred to the Stuart. Frome has existed in three incarnations throughout the history of the House of Assembly: as a two-seat multi-member marginal electorate from 1884 to 1902, as a single-member electorate from 1938 to 1977, and as a marginal to moderately safe single-member electorate for the Liberal Party since 1993. Geoff Brock
Geoffrey Graeme Brock (born 1950) is an Australian politician. He is an Independent member in the South Australian House of Assembly, representing the seat of Stuart since the 2022 South Australian state election. Prior to this, he represented the seat of Frome from the 2009 Frome by-election until a redistribution leading up to the 2022 state election. Brock has served as the Minister for Local Government, Minister for Regional Roads and Minister for Veterans Affairs in the Malinauskas Labor cabinet since March 2022, and is one of the two regional ministers in the cabinet. Brock was previously the Minister for Regional Development and Minister for Local Government in the Weatherill Labor cabinet from 2014 until Labor's defeat at the 2018 election. Named after the 19th century South Australian architect Edmund Wright, it is a suburban electorate in Adelaide's outer north-east, taking in the suburbs of Brahma Lodge, Gulfview Heights, Modbury Heights, Redwood Park, Salisbury South and Wynn Vale, as well as parts of Salisbury East and Surrey Downs. Blair Boyer
Blair Ingram Boyer (born 30 March 1981) is an Australian politician. He has been a Labor member of the South Australian House of Assembly since the 2018 state election, representing Wright. A solicitor by training, Boyer worked as chief of staff for his predecessor Jennifer Rankine, and was also deputy chief of staff to Premier Jay Weatherill. Mawson is a single-member electoral district for the South Australian House of Assembly. It covers the entirety of Kangaroo Island, and parts of the local government areas of Alexandrina Council, the City of Onkaparinga, and the District Council of Yankalilla. Major localities in the district include Cape Jervis, Kingscote, McLaren Vale, Port Willunga, Sellicks Beach, Willunga and Yankalilla. The electorate was created in the 1969 redistribution, taking effect at the 1970 election. It is named after Sir Douglas Mawson, a geologist and explorer who made several expeditions to Antarctica. Ramsay is a single-member electoral district for the South Australian House of Assembly. It is named after Alexander Ramsay, who was general manager of the South Australian Housing Trust for 25 years. It is a 24.7 km² suburban electorate north of Adelaide—based on the angle between Main North Road and the Port Wakefield Road, Ramsay covers the outer northern Adelaide suburbs of Paralowie, Salisbury, Salisbury Downs and Salisbury Plain, as well as part of Salisbury North. Ramsay was first contested at the 1985 election. Two of three representatives of the electorate have served as Premier of South Australia. The Australian Labor Party (South Australian Branch), commonly known as South Australian Labor, is the South Australian Branch of the Australian Labor Party, originally formed in 1891 as the United Labor Party of South Australia. It is one of two major parties in the bicameral Parliament of South Australia, the other being the Liberal Party of Australia (SA Division). Since the 1970 election, marking the beginning of democratic proportional representation (one vote, one value) and ending decades of pro-rural electoral malapportionment known as the Playmander, Labor have won 11 of the 15 elections. Electoral District Of Mount Gambier
Mount Gambier is a single-member electoral district for the South Australian House of Assembly. It covers the far south-east corner of the state containing the City of Mount Gambier and District Council of Grant local government areas. It is centred on the city and extinct volcano of Mount Gambier. History The electorate was created in the 1936 redistribution, taking effect at the 1938 election, but the name was not used between the 1993 and 2002 elections – the area was covered by the electoral district of Gordon during that time. It was one of the few country electoral districts that had never been held by the Liberal and Country League during the Playmander era.
