Melvin Goodman
Melvin Allan "Mel" Goodman is a national security and intelligence expert. He has worked as an analyst for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the State Department, taught at the National War College and Johns Hopkins University, and is a senior fellow at the Center for International Policy. Career Goodman's career in intelligence began in the U.S. Army where he worked as cryptographer. He then worked as an analyst at the Central Intelligence Agency, from 1966 to 1974. He transferred to the Bureau of Intelligence and Research in 1974, where he spent the next two years working as a senior analyst. He returned to the Central Intelligence Agency in 1976, and served as the division chief and senior analyst at the Office of Soviet Affairs until leaving in 1986. The National War College (NWC) of the United States is a school in the National Defense University. It is housed in Roosevelt Hall on Fort Lesley J. McNair, Washington, D.C., the third-oldest Army post still active. History The National War College (NWC) was officially established on July 1, 1946, as an upgraded replacement for the Army-Navy Staff College, which operated from June 1943 to July 1946. The college was one of James Forrestal's favorite causes. According to Lt. Gen. Leonard T. City Lights Bookstore
City Lights is an independent bookstore-publisher combination in San Francisco, California, that specializes in world literature, the arts, and progressive politics. It also houses the nonprofit City Lights Foundation, which publishes selected titles related to San Francisco culture. It was founded in 1953 by poet Lawrence Ferlinghetti and Peter D. Martin (who left two years later). Carolyn McGiffert Ekedahl was a Assistant inspector general for Inspections at the Central Intelligence Agency from 2001 until 2005. She had previously served as Deputy Assistant IG from 1997-2001. From 1962-1985, she served as an analyst at the CIA, working on Soviet foreign policy. In 1972 she authored a study on Finland's relationship with the Soviet Union. In 1981 she was handed the assignment to gather analysis on the Soviet Union’s alleged support and direction of international terrorism.
