Melody Davidson
Melody Davidson (born 1962 or 1963) was the head coach of the Canadian national women's hockey team. She was the head coach of the gold medal winning 2006 Winter Olympics and 2010 Winter Olympics Canadian women's team. A graduate of the University of Alberta, she was also the head coach of the Cornell Big Red women's ice hockey team. Previously the head coach of the Connecticut College Camels women's ice hockey team. Early life and education Davidson was born in Coronation, Alberta but moved to Oyen, Alberta after grade 3. After high school, she attended Red Deer College, where she earned a degree in physical education, and the University of Alberta (U of A). With her bachelor's degree, Davidson accepted a position as a recreation director before attending the National Coaching Institute at the University of Calgary. Alberta Sports Hall Of Fame
The Alberta Sports Hall of Fame is a hall of fame and museum in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada, dedicated to the preservation and history of sports within the province. It was created in 1957 by the Alberta Amateur Athletic Union (AAAU). The museum was eventually taken over by Sport Alberta in 1973 when the AAAU ceased operations. It has been maintained by the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame and Museum Society since 1997. The first permanent display for the Hall of Fame was established in Edmonton in 1962. The museum relocated between Edmonton and Calgary on numerous occasions until settling in Red Deer in 1999. Induction Induction was originally limited to amateur athletes. In 1979, eligibility was also extended to professional athletes. In the Hall's early years, winners of major international competitions were automatic qualifiers for entry. Coronation, Alberta
Coronation is a town in east-central Alberta, Canada that is surrounded by the County of Paintearth No. 18. It is located at the intersection of Highway 12 and Highway 872, approximately west of the Saskatchewan border. History Coronation was incorporated as a village on December 16, 1911, the year George V came to the throne hence its chosen name, then was officially declared a town on April 29, 1912. After moving south from the Haneyville, some distance north of its present location to be congruent with rail lines, Coronation was expected to be a hub town. The Premier Hockey Federation (PHF), formerly the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL), is a women's professional ice hockey league located in the United States and Canada. Gina Kingsbury (born November 26, 1981) is a Canadian former women's professional ice hockey player. She graduated from St. Lawrence University with a degree in psychology, and ranks second all-time in scoring among St. Lawrence Skating Saints women's ice hockey players. Playing career Besides hockey, Kingsbury participated in field hockey and softball as a student at The Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, Connecticut.
