Melodifestivalen 2009
Melodifestivalen 2009 was a Sweden, Swedish song contest held between February and March 2009. It was the selection for the 49th song to represent Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest, and was the 48th edition of Melodifestivalen. Five heats were held in the Swedish cities of Gothenburg, Skellefteå, Leksand and Malmö, with Norrköping hosting the final ''Andra Chansen'' round. After the five heats 11 songs had qualified to the final of the contest, contested in the Swedish capital of Stockholm, at the Ericsson Globe, Globe Arena. After the voting of 12 juries and a public televote had been revealed, the final winner was opera singer Malena Ernman with pop/opera song "La Voix (song), La Voix", which received top marks from the public televote, despite only placing eighth after the votes of the 12 juries. Petra Mede
Petra Maria Mede (; born 7 March 1970) is a Swedish comedian, dancer, actress and television presenter. She was born in Stockholm, and grew up in Gothenburg. Mede is known for her several roles in comic shows and as a television presenter. She is best known outside of Sweden for hosting the Eurovision Song Contest in and , as well as co-hosting ''Eurovision Song Contest's Greatest Hits'' in 2015. Career In 2009, she hosted Melodifestivalen 2009, where the Swedish entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 was chosen and was voted Sweden's best female comedian the same year. In May 2013, Petra hosted the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö, Sweden after Loreen (singer), Loreen's win in Baku in the previous year's competition. Malmö Arena
Malmö Arena is a multi-purpose List of indoor arenas, indoor arena in Malmö, Sweden, and the venue for home games of Swedish Hockey League, SHL ice hockey club Malmö Redhawks. It is the Swedish Hockey League, largest arena in the SHL, and the List of indoor arenas in Sweden, second-largest indoor arena in Sweden. Caroline Thérese af Ugglas Liljedahl (born 7 April 1972) is a Swedish singer, artist and chorister. Af Ugglas created the format for a televised choir contest, which was picked up by NBC in the United States as the show ''Clash of the Choirs'', and by the Seven Network in Australia as '' Battle of the Choirs''. Lasse Lindh (born 27 March 1974) is a Swedish indie pop musician. His debut album, ''Bra'', came out on EMI in 1998, and featured three charting singles in Sweden. Lindh began singing in English for his second album, ''You Wake Up at Sea Tac'' (the title is a reference to a line in ''Fight Club''), which was released in 2002. Lindh's relationship with South Korea dates back to 2006: his songs "The Stuff" and "C'mon Through" were used in the MBC TV series ''Soulmate''. Måns Zelmerlöw
Måns Petter Albert Sahlén Zelmerlöw (; born 13 June 1986) is a Swedish pop singer, songwriter and television presenter. He took part in '' Idol 2005'', eventually finishing fifth, won the first season of '' Let's Dance,'' and scored a hit with his 2007 song "Cara Mia", which was his entry in that year's Melodifestivalen. Zelmerlöw was the host of ''Allsång på Skansen'' from 2011 to 2013. He participated in Melodifestivalen in 2007, 2009 and won in 2015. BWO (band)
BWO was a Swedish electropop group, formed in 2003. Prior to early 2006 they used the name Bodies Without Organs. In Sweden they have enjoyed considerable commercial success throughout their career, so far notching up 15 Top 40 singles, including a Number 1 with "Temple of Love", and five Top 10 albums including a Number 1 with '' Halcyon Days'', and have won several major Swedish music awards. Alcazar is a Swedish nu-disco group. Alcazar is one of Sweden's most successful music groups both nationally and internationally with a string of hits since their debut single in 1999. Worldwide, Alcazar sold over 12 million records between 2001 and 2004. Alcazar also had success globally in 2000 with their song "Crying at the Discoteque", having charted in USA, Brazil, Australia, Japan and most countries in Europe. Himmelstalundshallen
Himmelstalundshallen is an indoor arena in Norrköping, Sweden. It is home arena for the ice hockey team HC Vita Hästen and holds 4,280 people. Construction was completed on 4 October 1977 and the arenas was inaucurated with a ceremony lasting for three days between 7–9 October the same year. On 29 November that year, an indoor soccer competition was played in Himmelstalundshallen, won by Hammarby IF. The arena hosted the preliminary games of group B at the men's FIBA European Basketball Championship in September 2003. Ejendals Arena
Tegera Arena is an arena in Leksand, Sweden primarily used for ice hockey. It was opened in October 2005, and is the home arena of Leksands IF. It holds 7,650 people. History Construction of a new arena, replacing the former Leksands ishall from 1966, was announced on 27 April 2004. Construction began on 5 July the same year, and the first ice hockey game inside the arenas was played on 3 October 2005 when Leksands IF lost, 3–4, against Linköpings HC in the Swedish Hockey League. The arenas was officially inaugurated by County-Governor Ingrid Dahlberg of Dalarna on 11 November 2005. The arena hosted games during the 2007 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships, together with FM Mattsson Arena in Mora. The following season, the 2007 4 Nations Cup was played at Tegera Arena.
