Melodia (label)
Melodiya ( rus, links=no, Мелодия, t=Melody) is a Russian (formerly Soviet) record label. It was the state-owned major record company of the Soviet Union. History Melodiya was established in 1964 as the "All-Union Gramophone Record Firm of the USSR Ministry of Culture Melodiya". It utilized numerous recording studios and manufacturing facilities throughout the USSR as well as powerful centres of distribution and promotional strategies. The best selling format at the time was 33⅓ and 78 rpm vinyl records. Amanda Lear (; born 1939) is a French singer, songwriter, painter, television presenter, actress, and former model. She began her professional career as a fashion model in the mid-1960s, and went on to model for Paco Rabanne, Ossie Clark, and others. She met Spanish surrealist painter Salvador Dalí, and remained his closest friend and muse for the next 15 years. Cruise (Kruiz, russian: Круиз) is a Heavy metal music, heavy metal band from the former Soviet Union. Started in 1980 as a government-controlled soft rock and Pop music, pop act, the band enjoyed great success all across the USSR before the revocation of their license to perform/record in 1984 as part of the state's brief crackdown on the Western culture. In 1985, founding member and guitarist Valery Gaina reformed the band with a completely different lineup that featured him on lead vocals. Mashina Vremeni () is a Russian rock band founded in 1969. Mashina Vremeni was a pioneer of Soviet rock music and remains one of the oldest still-active rock bands in Russia. The band's music incorporates elements of classic rock, blues, and bard's song. Mashina Vremeni's best known members are Andrei Makarevich (founder, principal singer-songwriter, public face of the band), Alexander Kutikov (bass player and producer/sound engineer), and Evgeny Margulis (guitarist/songwriter). Autograph (Russian Band)
Autograph (russian: Автограф, or ''Avtograf'') was a Soviet Russian art rock/ AOR band, considered a pioneer of progressive rock music in Russia. History The group was founded in Moscow in 1979 by Alexander "Sasha" Sitkovetsky, and achieved a considerable success at the first Soviet state-sanctioned rock festival held in Tbilisi, Georgia with Sitkovetsky's songs "Fasten Seat Belts", "Ireland. Vladimir Borisovich Kuzmin (russian: Влади́мир Борисович Кузьмин born 31 May 1955) is a Russian rock singer, guitarist, and songwriter. Biography Kuzmin is the son of Boris Kuzmin, a naval officer, and Natalya Kuzmina, a Russian language and literature teacher. When he was young boy, Kuzmin played violin in musical school. He wrote his first song when he was six years old. He learned to play guitar on his own. He organized his first band, Aelita, in the 6th grade. Aleksander Aleksandrovich Barykin (Byrykin) (russian: Александр Александрович Барыкин (Бырыкин); February 18, 1952 — March 26, 2011) was a Soviet and Russian singer and songwriter. Biography Alexander Barykin was born on February 18, 1952, in Beryozovo ( Khanty-Mansia). He was a young boy when his parents moved to Lybertsy, a suburb near Moscow.
