Melloblocco
Melloblocco is an international bouldering competition, which is held annually in Val Masino Val Masino (Western Lombard dialect, Western Lombard: ''Val Màsen'') is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Sondrio in the Italy, Italian region Lombardy, located about northeast of Milan and about northwest of Sondrio, on the border ... and Val di Mello since 2004. History The 2011 edition, the eighth time the competition was hosted, had 2600 participants from 22 different countries. The competition usually takes place the first weekend in May and lasts three days. The bouldering problems are plotted in the three to four months before the meeting by Simone Pedeferri. The problems are of varying difficulty, but only the most difficult, usually eight men and the same for women, are counted for the prize. Adam Ondra
Adam Ondra (born February 5, 1993) is a Czech professional rock climber, specializing in lead climbing and bouldering. In 2013, ''Rock & Ice'' described Ondra as a prodigy and the leading climber of his generation. Alexey Vyacheslavovich Rubtsov (russian: Алексей Вячеславович Рубцов; born 5 August 1988) is a Russian professional rock climber who specializes in competition bouldering. He has won the IFSC Climbing World Championships in the bouldering discipline in 2009. He won the 9th edition of the Melloblocco competition in 2012. At the 2020 IFSC Climbing European Championships he won the combined event, ensuring him a place at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Shauna Coxsey (born 27 January 1993) is an English professional rock climber. She is the most successful competition climber in the UK, having won the IFSC Bouldering World Cup Season in both 2016 and 2017.
