Melissa Hoskins
Melissa Hoskins (born 24 February 1991) is an Australian former track and road racing cyclist. She topped the general classification in the 2012 Tour of Chongming Island. She was a member of the Australian track cycling team pursuit team that finished in fourth place at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Hoskins announced her retirement from professional cycling on 2 May 2017. Personal Hoskins was born on 24 February 1991 in Kalamunda, Western Australia. She attended Walliston Primary School before going to high school at Carmel Adventist College in Western Australia. She then went to Murdoch University Western Australia where she pursued a Bachelor of Sports Science. In February 2018 she married cyclist Rohan Dennis. 2015 The Women's Tour
The 2015 Aviva Women's Tour was the second staging of The Women's Tour, a women's stage race held in the United Kingdom. It ran from 17 to 21 June 2015 and had a UCI rating of 2.1. As in 2014, the race consisted of 5 stages and ran through southern and eastern England. The defending champion, Marianne Vos, was unable to participate due to injury. The winner of the first stage, Lizzie Armitstead, was unable to participate further in the race after she crashed crossing the finishing line, sustaining a sprained wrist and heavy bruising. Lisa Brennauer assumed the race lead after Armitstead's withdrawal, and after briefly losing the lead to Christine Majerus on stage three, her stage win on the fourth stage allowed her to reassume the race lead which she held to the end of the race. 2012 UCI Road World Championships
The 2012 UCI Road World Championships took place in the southern part of the Dutch province of Limburg, also known as South Limburg, between September 15 and 23. The event consisted of a road race and a time trial for men, women and men under 23, and team time trials for elite men and women. It was the 79th Road World Championships. Castelfidardo near Loreto in Italy was also a candidate, but Italy had held the UCI Road World Championships in Varese in 2008. The Netherlands had last hosted the Road World Championships in 1998, in Valkenburg aan de Geul, and 2012 was the seventh time that the country hosted the championships. Rohan Dennis (born 28 May 1990) is an Australian professional road racing cyclist who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Dennis was born, raised, and resides in Adelaide, South Australia, Australia. He won back to back UCI men's individual time trial world championships in 2018 and 2019. Cycling At The 2012 Summer Olympics – Women's Team Pursuit
The women's cycling team pursuit at the 2012 Olympic Games in London was held at the London Velopark on 3 and 4 August. The Great Britain team consisting of Dani King, Laura Trott and Joanna Rowsell won the gold medal in world record-breaking time. Including pre-Olympic races and the Olympic final itself, in the six times they had ridden together they had broken the world record in every race. Team Pursuit
The team pursuit is a track cycling event similar to the individual pursuit, except that two teams, each of up to four riders, compete, starting on opposite sides of the velodrome. Race format Both men's and women's events are competed over a distance of 4 km, by a team of 4 riders. Prior to the start of the 2012–13 season the women's event was competed over a distance of 3 km, by a team of 3 riders. As with the individual pursuit, the objective is to cover the distance in the fastest time or to catch and overtake the other team in a final. 2013 UCI Road World Championships
The 2013 UCI Road World Championships took place in Tuscany, Italy, between 22 and 29 September 2013. The Championships consisted of 12 events for elite, under-23 and junior cyclists. It was the 86th Road World Championships, the 13th in Italy and the first time that the event took place in Tuscany. The different events finished near the Nelson Mandela Forum in Florence.
