Melanie Williams
Melanie Williams (born 28 October 1964) is a British singer. She sang on the hit single " Ain't No Love (Ain't No Use)" alongside the Manchester-based electronic group Sub Sub. Career Williams was a friend of Sub Sub at the time, and the band, searching for a female guest vocalist, featured her vocals. This helped expose her talents to the public, and was followed by further critical success. Williams and her writing colleague Eric Gooden, found Square One Studios in Bury, Greater Manchester. The proprietor Trevor Taylor, liked what he heard and they began recording a string of tracks assisted by house engineer and musician Stephen Boyce-Buckley. They released the single "Showdown" under the name No Sovereign on Geffen Records in 1987, and subsequently landed a recording contract with 10 Records; a sub-division of Virgin Records. Adrian Snell (born 1954) is an English pianist, keyboard player, singer and composer. Biography Classically trained at the Leeds College of Music and with a music diploma to his name (LGSM), Snell's musical career spans nearly four decades. ''Super Highways'' is the second album by New Order members Gillian Gilbert and Stephen Morris under the name the Other Two. It was released in 1999 six years after their début, and a year after New Order reformed. Four tracks were co-written by Melanie Williams, who also sang lead on two of them ("You Can Fly" and "One Last Kiss") and backing vocals on the title track. The album was re-released in January 2010 by LTM Recordings, and in 2020 by Factory Benelux. The Other Two is an English dance band consisting of Stephen Morris and Gillian Gilbert of New Order. The band name refers to the fact that the other New Order members, Bernard Sumner and Peter Hook, had already embarked on side projects by the time the first The Other Two record was released. Joe Roberts is an English soul/ dance singer, active in the 1990s. Prior to Roberts starting to record with business and life-partner Melanie Williams, he also had solo hits with "Lover", "Back in My Life" and " Adore", originally by Prince on his '' Sign “☮” the Times'' album. Together with Williams, Roberts covered "You Are Everything", previously recorded by the Stylistics and later covered by Diana Ross and Marvin Gaye.
