Melanie Mariam Thanee Frasch (born December 1, 1971), better known as Melanie Peres ( he, מלאני פרס) is an Israeli model and actress. She has been a model for over 20 years, and has acted on various television programs and movies; she played the title role in the 2010 Israeli feature film ''Naomi''. Early life Peres was born in Berlin, West Germany to a Christian father Peter, and Jewish mother Nurith Frasch. She was named after American singer Melanie Safka. After her parents separated when she was 3 years old, she stayed with her father. At 15, under difficult relationship circumstances where her father remarried, she left and immigrated to Israel to join her mother; she stayed at an absorption center in Upper Nazareth. Peres mentioned in interviews that the move was a traumatic experience. Ronit Elkabetz ( he, רונית אלקבץ; 27 November 1964 – 19 April 2016) was an Israeli actress, screenwriter and film director. She worked in both Israeli and French cinema. She won three Ophir Awards and received a total of seven nominations. Biography Elkabetz was born in Beersheba in 1964 to a religious Moroccan Jewish family, originally from Essaouira. She grew up in Kiryat Yam. Her mother spoke French and Moroccan Arabic, but her father insisted on speaking only Hebrew. Elkabetz was the oldest of four children, with three younger brothers. Edna Mazia ( he, עדנה מזי"א; 24 July 1949 – 10 December 2023) was an Israeli playwright, author, screenwriter, and director. Biography Mazia began her career as a screenwriter, working with film director Amos Guttman on several films in the early 1980s. She transitioned to playwright in the 1990s, with her first play premiering in 1991 at Haifa Theatre.
