1957 World Series
The 1957 World Series featured the defending champion New York Yankees of the American League playing against the Milwaukee Braves of the National League. After finishing just one game behind the N.L. Champion Brooklyn Dodgers in 1956, the Braves came back in 1957 to win their first pennant since moving from Boston in 1953. In baseball, a pinch hitter is a substitute Batting (baseball), batter. In baseball statistics, a player is credited with a plate appearance (denoted by PA) each time he completes a turn batting.
