Nabil Ayouch
Nabil Ayouch (born 1 April 1969) is a Franco-Moroccan television and film director, producer, and writer. His films have screened at international film festivals including the Cannes Film Festival and Montreal World Film Festival. Early life He was born in 1969 in Paris, to a Moroccan father, and a French mother of Tunisian-Jewish descent. His brother is fellow director Hicham Ayouch. After the divorce of his parents, he spent a large part of his childhood in the suburb of Sarcelles, visiting Casablanca in the summers. Ayouch cites discovering international cinema at the local cultural centre, Forum des Cholettes, as inspiring his filmmaking career. Film career Ayouch started his career as a scriptwriter and director with the advertising agency Euro-RSCG. List Of Moroccan Submissions For The Academy Award For Best Foreign Language Film
The Kingdom of Morocco has submitted films intermittently for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film since 1977. The award is handed out annually by the United States Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non-English dialogue. To date, Morocco has submitted a total of seventeen films for Oscar consideration, but none have yet succeeded in receiving an Oscar nomination. Submissions The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has invited the film industries of various countries to submit their best film for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film since 1956. The Foreign Language Film Award Committee oversees the process and reviews all the submitted films. Following this, they vote via secret ballot to determine the five nominees for the award. Rachid El Ouali ( ar, رشيد الوالي; born April 3, 1965) is a Moroccan famous actor, producer, director and TV host. Career El Ouali started acting at the end of the 1980s. He showed proficiency in his major role in the drama TV serial ''Flock of Pigeons'' ( سرب الحمام، Serb Al Hamam). He starred in the famous television comedy series ''Hossein & Safia'' (الحسين و الصافية، El Hossein w Safia) with actress Samia Akariou. Faouzi Bensaïdi ( ar, فوزي بن السعيدي; born 14 March 1967) is a Moroccan film director, actor, screenwriter and artist. His film ''A Thousand Months'' was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2003 Cannes Film Festival. In 2007 and 2009 he has taken part in the Arts in Marrakech Festival showing and discussing his films and installations. In 2011, his film ''Death for Sale'' premiered at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival in September. The film was selected as the Moroccan entry for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, Best Foreign Language Oscar at the 85th Academy Awards, but it did not make the final shortlist. Mohammed Miftah
Muhammad ( ar, مُحَمَّد; 570 – 8 June 632 CE) was an Arab religious, social, and political leader and the founder of Islam. According to Islamic doctrine, he was a prophet divinely inspired to preach and confirm the monotheistic teachings of Adam, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and other prophets. He is believed to be the Seal of the Prophets within Islam. Muhammad united Arabia into a single Muslim polity, with the Quran as well as his teachings and practices forming the basis of Islamic religious belief. Muhammad was born approximately 570CE in Mecca. He was the son of Abdullah ibn Abd al-Muttalib and Amina bint Wahb.
