The is a commuter electric multiple unit type operated by Nagoya Railroad (Meitetsu) in Japan since 1978. There is also a 200 series type, operated since 1991, which is very similar to the 100 series. , formed in 1896, is a major rolling stock manufacturer based in Nagoya, Japan. In 1996, it abbreviated its name to "日本車両" Nippon Sharyō. Its shortest abbreviation is Nissha "日車".
