Meiko (album)
''Meiko'' is the self-titled debut studio album by Meiko, released in 2008. An earlier version of this album was self-released in 2007. The newer release features re-recorded versions of "Under My Bed" and "Said and Done", and adds Meiko's first single, "Boys with Girlfriends". The 2007 self-release features a 'secret' track at the very end of the CD, which is a song called "You and Onions". Meiko (American Singer)
Meiko () is an American singer-songwriter residing in London, England. She independently released a self-titled album on September 1, 2007. All of the tracks from the LP have been featured in major network TV shows. Her second full-length, titled '' The Bright Side'', was released through Fantasy Records on May 15, 2012, and a single from the album, "Stuck On You", reached No. 1 on the combined Japanese AirPlay Chart and No. 1 on the International Chart in Japan. Early life Meiko was born in the small town of Roberta, Georgia and raised by her father. Meiko first stepped in front of an audience at the age of eight, singing " White Christmas" for parishioners of a Southern Baptist church. In the years that followed, she performed everywhere from talent shows to Little League baseball parks. Indie Pop
Indie pop (also typeset as indie-pop or indiepop) is a music genre and subculture that combines guitar pop with DIY ethic in opposition to the style and tone of mainstream pop music. It originated from British post-punk in the late 1970s and subsequently generated a thriving fanzine, Independent record label, label, and club and gig circuit. Compared to its counterpart, indie rock, the genre is more melodic, less abrasive, and relatively angst-free. MySpace Records was a record label founded in 2005 to sign artists who appeared on the social networking site Myspace. DGC Records (an initialism for the David Geffen Company) was an American record label that operated as a division of Interscope Geffen A&M Records, which is owned by the Universal Music Group. History DGC Records was launched in 1990 as a subsidiary label of Geffen Records and was distributed by Warner Bros. Records until 1991, when it was acquired by MCA Music Entertainment Group. The label was created as a response to the success Geffen had with the harder rock acts on its roster. Though it initially focused on more progressive rock and heavy metal, as the decade progressed it also embraced the emergence of (and become a seminal label of) alternative rock, with influential acts like Nirvana, Sonic Youth, Hole, Weezer and Beck.
