Mehdi Dehbi
Mehdi Dehbi (born 5 December 1985) is a Belgian actor and theatre director, known for his roles in ' (2009, English title: ''He is My Girl''), ' (2011), '' Le Fils de l'Autre'' (2012, English title: ''The Other Son''), ''Mary Queen of Scots'' (2013), and '' A Most Wanted Man'' (2014). In 2020, he played the title role in the Netflix series ''Messiah''. Early life Mehdi Dehbi was born on 5 December 1985 in the in Liège. From the age of ten, Dehbi attended the theater and music school, which had been established in the hospital building where he had been born. At the age of sixteen his first lead role in a feature film was in ', directed by Abdelkrim Bahloul and produced by the Dardenne brothers, for which he was nominated as Best Actor at the Joseph Plateau Awards. A Joseph Plateau Award was an accolade presented by the Flanders International Film Festival Ghent, first awarded in 1985. The awards were given in several categories to honor cinematic achievements in the film industry. They were restricted to Belgian cinema and Belgian producers, directors, and actors. The name of the award comes from the physicist Joseph Plateau (1801–1883). They were considered to be the Belgian equivalent to the Academy Awards of the United States. The awards ceremony was held in conjunction with the Flanders International Film Festival Ghent, which initially co-founded the event. The last award ceremony was held on March 7, 2006. Babak Najafi Karami ( fa, بابک نجفی, born 14 September 1975) is an Iranian-Swedish film director, screenwriter, and cinematographer. He is known for directing the 2016 film ''London Has Fallen''. David Rizzio ( ; it, Davide Rizzio ; – 9 March 1566) or Riccio ( , ) was an Italian courtier, born in Pancalieri close to Turin, a descendant of an ancient and noble family still living in Piedmont, the Riccio Counts di San Paolo e Solbrito, who rose to become the private secretary of Mary, Queen of Scots.
