Meghan Archer
Meghan Archer (born 9 October 1987) is an Australian soccer player who formerly played for Melbourne Victory in the W-League. Archer was born and raised in Devonport, Tasmania, where she began playing soccer at a young age, notably scoring 25 goals for Devonport City as a 16-year-old in the 2004 Northern Premier League. In the same year, Meghan competed for Tasmania in the Under-17 National Championships, where she was identified as one of the players of the tournament, and invited by then NTC coach Harry Chalkitis to train with his squad in Melbourne. After securing an NTC squad position, Archer relocated to Melbourne in 2005, where she played for Heidelberg United in the Victorian Premier League, making a total of 65 appearances and scoring 19 goals in her first three seasons at the club. Devonport ( ; Palawa Kani: ''Tiagarra'') is a city in northern Tasmania, Australia, located on the lands of the Pannilerpanner clan of the Palawa nation. It is situated at the mouth of the Mersey River. Devonport had an urban population of 26,150 at the 2021 Australian census. Box Hill United Soccer Club is an Australian semi-professional soccer club based in the Melbourne suburb of Box Hill. The club currently competes in the National Premier Leagues Victoria 3. United is based at Wembley Park in Box Hill South. History Box Hill entered the Victorian Division 4 in 1925. In their first season they lost one game and drew once to become champion and win promotion to division 3 for the 1926 season. This season proved to be just as successful as they once again became league champions, this time losing just two games throughout the season. The Women's National Soccer League (WNSL) was Australia's top women's association football league. Originally known as the Ansett Australia Summer Series for sponsorship reasons, the WNSL began in 1996 consisting of six clubs and continued through until 2004, folding alongside the National Soccer League.
