Megavolley
Megavolley, also known as Megabox Volley Vallefoglia, is an Italian professional women's volleyball club based in Vallefoglia. The team currently plays in the Italian Women's Volleyball League, Serie A1, Italy's highest professional league. Previous names Due to sponsorship, the club has competed under the following names: * Megabox Battistelli Vallefoglia (2019–2020) * Megabox Vallefoglia (2020–2021) * Megabox Ondulati del Savio Vallefoglia (2021–present) History Megavolley was founded in 2019 and for its debut season (2019–2020) the club acquired the rights to play in Serie B1 from Volley Ospitaletto. Megavolley was in second place in the standings, just three points from the leading team, when the season was canceled due to COVID-19. After missing the chance to play for a promotion to Italian Women's 2 Volleyball League, Serie A2 the club decided to acquire the rights to play in Serie A2 from P2P Baronissi. 2023–24 Italian Women's Volleyball League
The 2023–24 Serie A1 was the 79th season of the highest professional Italian Women's Volleyball League. The season took place from October to April and was contested by fourteen teams. Format The regular season consists of 26 rounds, where the fourteen participating teams play each other twice (once home and once away). At the completion of the regular season, the eight best teams advance to the championship playoffs and the teams finishing 13th and 14th are relegated to Italian Women's 2 Volleyball League, Serie A2. The standings criteria: *highest number of result points (points awarded for results: 3 points for 3–0 or 3–1 wins, 2 points for 3–2 win, 1 point for 2–3 loss); *highest number of matches won; *highest set quotient (the number of total sets won divided by the number of total sets lost); *highest points quotient (the number of total points scored divided by the number of total points conceded). Gaia Giovannini (born 17 December 2001) is an Italian volleyball player who plays for Megavolley as an outside hitter with jersey number 12. Career Clubs Giovannini's career began in the 2019–20 season in Montale, in Serie A2. In the 2020–21 season she was hired by Cuneo Granda, making her debut in Serie A1, the same category where she played in the 2022–23 season wearing the AGIL jersey and in the 2023–24 season with Megavolley. Laura Dijkema
Laura Chantal Dijkema (born 18 February 1990) is a Dutch volleyball player, who plays as a setter. She is a member of the Netherlands women's national volleyball team, Women's National Team. Career Dijkema began playing volleyball in 1997 at the age of 7, at the club Smash in her hometown of Beilen. In 2006 as a 16-year-old she went to play at DOK from Dwingeloo, then in the highest league in the Netherlands. In 2010, Dijkema, then at Halkbank from Turkey, got her first chance at the Netherlands women's national volleyball team, Dutch national team at the Montreux Volley Masters. From 2011 to 2016 Dijkema played for several clubs in Germany. For the season 2016-17 she has signed a contract with Novara from Italy. The Italian Women's Volleyball League Serie A1 ( it, Serie A1 italiana di pallavolo femminile), is the highest women's volleyball league in Italy. It is organized and administrated by the Italian Volleyball Federation (FIPAV). It is considered one of the oldest women's top national leagues in European volleyball, being established in 1946 in sports, 1946, and its clubs have achieved significant success in the continental European club competitions. In team sport, captain is a title given to a member of the team. The title is frequently honorary, but in some cases the captain may have significant responsibility for strategy and teamwork while the game is in progress on the field. In either case, it is a position that indicates honor and respect from one's teammates – recognition as a leader by one's peers. Tatiana Sergeyevna Kosheleva (''russian: Татья́на Серге́евна Ко́шелева'', born 23 December 1988) is a Russian volleyball player. She was a member of the Russia women's national volleyball team that won the gold medal at the 2010 World Championship, the 2013 European Championship and the 2015 European Championship. Career Club At club level, she played for Dinamo Moscow, Zarechie Odintsovo, Dinamo Kazan and Dinamo Krasnodar before joining Eczacıbaşı VitrA in 2016.
