Megapolis is an residential township in Pimpri-Chinchwad, India. It is located along the outskirts of Pune, in Hinjawadi. The township is being built at an estimated cost of . It is developed by Pegasus Properties, a joint venture of Kumar Properties and Avinash Bhosale Infrastructure Ltd (ABIL). Work on the project started in early 2007, it was launched in April 2012, and possession of various building and housing projects started in 2013. Some new building clusters are launched in 2018 and 2019. History This township was formally launched in April 2008, developed by Pegasus Properties Ltd., a joint venture between Kumar Properties and Avinash Bhosale Industries Ltd. (ABIL), established in 2008. Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune is the northwestern city limits of Pune, India. Geographically, it is located at an altitude above sea level, at a distance of about northwest of its historic centre. The neighbourhood is home to extensive industry and is well known for its automotive, IT and manufacturing industry. History The first reference to Pune region is found in two copper plates dated to 758 and 768 AD, issued by Rashtrakuta ruler Krishna I. The plates are called "Puny Vishaya" and "Punaka Vishaya" respectively. The plates mention areas around Pune such as Theur, Uruli, Khed, Dapodi, and also Bhosari, now part of the city. Chinchwad is noted for the shrine of Morya Gosavi, a prominent saint of the Ganapatya denomination of Hinduism that worships Lord Ganesha as the Supreme Being or its metaphysical concept of Brahman. Various sources place Moraya Gosavi between the 13th and 17th centuries CE. The inscription on the temple records that its construction began in 1658 CE. ...
