Meganne Young
Meganne Young (born 22 March 1990) is a South African actress and director. She is best known for her roles in ''The Kissing Booth'' franchise and the Starz series '' Black Sails''. Early life Young was born in Cape Town to a South African father and an Australian mother. She spent her childhood moving around, with stints in Nigeria, Switzerland, and Sri Lanka where she took the International Baccalaureate at the Overseas School of Colombo. She pursued at an Advanced Diploma in Acting at the CityVarsity Cape Town campus, completing in 2011, before going on to graduate from the Guildford School of Acting in England as a part-time distance learner in 2014. Career Young began her career in theatre and short films, earning 48 Hour Film and Fleur du Cap Theatre Award nominations for her work. She appeared in the British film '' Eye in the Sky''. The Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards are annual South African theatre awards focusing on professional productions staged in and around Cape Town. Awards are presented in 20 categories. History The Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards were originally known as the Three Leaf Arts Awards. The first awards were made in 1965 for the preceding year's productions. 48 Hour Film Project
The 48 Hour Film Project is an annual film competition in which teams of filmmakers are assigned a genre, a character, a prop, and a line of dialogue, and have 48 hours to create a short film containing those elements. The competition has been active since 2001. In the weeks after the 48 hours of filmmaking are complete, screenings are held in each city and a winner is chosen to represent that city at Filmapalooza—a festival that features "best of" screenings of the winners from each city. The National Arts Festival (NAF) is an annual festival of performing arts in Grahamstown, South Africa. It is the largest arts festival on the African continent and one of the largest performing arts festivals in the world by visitor numbers. The festival runs for 11 days, from the last week of June to the first week of July every year. It takes place in the small university city of Makhanda (previously known as Grahamstown), in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa.
