Megala is a 2007-2010 Indian Tamil-language soap opera that aired on Sun TV from 4 June 2007 to 25 April 2008 on Monday through Friday at 19:30 (IST)and from 28 April 2008 to 23 April 2010 at 18:00 (IST). It ran for 729 episodes. It had been receiving the highest ratings of Tamil serials and received high praising from viewers. The show starring by Gayathiri, Deepan Chakravarthy Yugendran, Vadivukkarasi, Kuyili, Shreekumar, Rajkanth and Bhavana. The show producer by Metti Oli serial fame ''Cine Times Entertainment'' Siddhiq and directed by Vikramathithan. It replaced Anjali. It was also aired in Sri Lanka Tamil Channel on Shakthi TV. The Sun Kudumbam Viruthugal 2010 ( ta, சன் குடும்பம் விருதுகள் 2010) were given for 22 categories, of which there were 8 main awards, 8 performance awards and 6 technical awards. The nominations and victories were based on votes via text messaging. The award ceremony was hosted by actress Kasthuri and Rishi. Special guests who attended the function include Sneha, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Ramesh Khanna, Lawrence Raghavendra, Solomon Pappaiah, Sathyan, Arun Vijay, Manobala and Kaveri Maran, wife of Kalanidhi Maran. Yugabharathi is a Tamil poet and lyricist. His birth name was "Santhanam Desan" and he was known as "Santhanam" by his family and friends. During the early 1990s when he began writing poems for magazines he started using the pen name "Yugabharathi" in honour of the great Tamil poet Subramanya Bharathi, commonly known as Mahakavi Bharithiyar.
